What do you read now?

I have a habit: shortly after finishing one book I begin another. And that excites me. Some days ago I finished reading a book on computer and got so tired of reading from the screen that I instantly took another one - a printed book. I'm reading "100 Mysteries of Russian History" now. What do you read?

I recently want to upgrade my english and writing skills. So I read some classics or books written by classic writer like Maupassant. Their works are alwayls giving credits to their audience.

As in summer you (at least I) generally want to read something less serious, I have actually started a fantasy book, the Darren Shan - Cirque du Freak series. Quite not for my age and I have always hated fantasy as well, but somehow I enjoy this now a lot.

Maybe you are right that in summer it's good to read something less serious. Probably because you are often distracted and move from one activity to another.

Hello annamol, I am currently reading "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles. The book was published a century ago and it is one of the inspiration behind the book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. The said book proposed that everything that we see and what has been happening to us, whether it is with success or failure comes from the way we think. What we desire also comes from doing things in certain ways. We now commonly call this principle as The Law of Attraction.

i love to read. before when i was in college,i have this habit of going to a bookstore then reading there cause i can't afford to buy those expensive novels i wanted to read. well,i read those novels of stephen king, only few from him and if i'm not mistaken, sydney sheldon is one of those authors i really wanted to read before. i find it funny i even had a friend in the bookstore who is also fan of her.funny, but we just met there,we just chat and find ourselves comfortable sharing stories there, but it never happened again.for now i even can't remember the stories i have read. but now,i like more of reading here,in mylot. though i still want to have time to read on those books in hand. i missed reading books.

I just finished a great novel this afternoon. It's called A Thousand Tomorrows. It's the first Karren Kingsbury novel that I have read and I fell in love with it. So I am planning to read all her books because I have a feeling that they will be just as great as that one.

I'm exactly like this! I finish reading one book and then I will immediately turn to another book! I gain so much pleasure from regular reading and it really helps me to escape and forget, for a short time, about the world around me! I'm not keen on the idea of reading online books though as this can be quite stressful for the eyes I think! I much prefer the idea of actually turning the pages of a physical book and you even experience that lovely smell of the pages as you turn them! I'm presently reading Stephen King, he is my favourite author and I'm reading 'Bag of Bones' which is quite an exciting read, he writes well and I think he is good and making characters come to life and you can actually relate to them! I tend to read fiction as opposed to non-fiction although I don't mind reading the occasional reference book from time to time. Ultimately, reading is very good for the mind and it improves your communication skills as well and it may even encourage you to try your hand at writing! I have an interest in writing myself and this has definitely stemmed from my interest in reading fiction! I'm not sure I will every become a published writer though! Andrew

Hi, Andrew. I also prefer a printed book to a screen one - it's so much nicer. I have some collection. I love fiction and I very much like Stephen King who is the master of fiction and horror. Hope, you'll be successful in the field of writing. But you are already a reader and that means a lot!

I never can read a book on the computer. I prefer to sit in comfort and read a printed book . I normally have at least 2 or three books which I intend reading. I am now reading a mystery suspense by Agatha Christie and I have another novel in my native language which was highly recommended by a friend. I am trying to read more novels and books in our local language now...

Yes, I agree that to read in your native language is so important. I do it most of the time and enjoy it a lot. I also love Agatha Christie. I read lots of her stories, I love watching movies based on her books and I even listened to some audio books with her stories. Very entertaining reading.

I never stop reading. As soon as I finish one book I always pick up another, and I usually have a stack of books waiting for me. The days I finish reading a book and find NOTHING waiting to be read in my stack... are sad days. I've just got a major reading addiction. I can't go without a book to read for more than 24 hours. Right now I'm reading "Auralia's Colors" by Jeffery Overstreet. I'm about halfway through and I'm enjoying it.

hello, i like reading books. i want them in their physical form: electronic books somehow give me a headache. i read just about anything but lately going back to antoine de saint-exupery's airman's odyssey. someone also gave me baudelaire's les fleurs de mal in its original (french) version which made me excited because like julie85, i like baudelaire. i do not know what's with the french, but i like reading french literature and i am studying the language right now so i can appreciate the works more.

I read series...I like having a continuous story to keep me on edge. Nothing too analytical though...stuff like narnia (before people in Hollywood messed it up) the book is actually an allegory of the bible pretty interesting.

Oh, I've never read Narnia. I didn't like the movie, thought that it's definitly not for me. So you say it reminded you of an allegory of the bible? That's very interesting.
