Remember to check your alerts periodically for a chance to earn money and receive other outstanding prizes! This program is open to myLot users from the United States only."

I also received lots of forwarded email with that same kind of message. I don't think it's true because that email had been circulating for the past three years and yet none of my friends win any laptop so everytime I read it now, I never believed on that. I just ignore it. So it's for mylot users in the US only?hmmm. I am not really sure if it is true, try to verify it to concerned individuals or companies.

I never follow those kind of messages, usually they lead to spyware or spam . I don't think people would give away something worth $400+ dollars just for answering questions and giving away your personal information, even though to companies it may well be worth that much. Be cautious if you choose to do it, you might want to get a second email adress to mail all the spam to incase that does happen! Cheers

It is "legit" but it depends how you define "free". A lot of these kind of companies sponsering these type of offers usually sell your email, personal information, etc. etc. The selling of "said" information could result in you getting billed for "trial offers" which you were not aware you were signing up for and random membership things like "cellphone ringtone services" that might end up charging you $9.99 a month straight to your cellphone bill(and you might not even notice as it might be built into your bill if you dont look carefully which probably explains why this one is most common.) The other kind of thing is you have an "offer" within the "free laptop" offers and one's similar to it that's "free" but ends up doing similar stuff as to what i mentioned above. It's basically a really deceptive and blackhatisque way of marketing. The plus side of all of this is a lot of these mysterious "get a free so and so" can result in the given whatever and perhaps for way less. The big issue though is following along and figuring out what all you may get signed up for & simply canceling a lot of the stuff you never "approved" of doing and courts generally rule in your favor, especially for those ridiculous cellphone ringtone service companies. However. This is a LOT of work and if you don't know what you're doing you could put yourself at major financial risk so it's generally best to avoid these kinds of things. Even if you see Mylot mentioning one in their alerts. They're not "scams" but "financially-risky" is the best way I can think of to put it. If you are to consider one make sure you find each and every little detail about the particular offer before doing it.

It's even more risky as there are a lot of scams mixed into this kind of market so it's sometimes hard to tell which ones are legitimate and which ones are not(as in you'll get signed up for a bunch of stuff and perhaps billed and your personal info sold and you may not receive anything in the mail for it.).

They're all scams, all they do is take your information and use for their own sick and evil needs. I like to think of them as like lawyers.

You will get a laptop but it's not free...First, you must sign up for at least 7 or 8 services and then you have to get at least two different people to sign up for the same 7 or 8 services and then you get the so called free laptop.
