i sometimes make fun of myself too although i sometimes go through my own set of troubles, i find it reassuring that i can still have enough self confidence to laugh at myself. it does help a lot when i can see the lighter side of things, and not always be too stressed up about everything that i'm going through. laughter always manages to ease the pain & stress in just about anything, provided of course that its not at one of those times when we really do have to be serious and i can even laugh at myself if accidentally do something silly, or a friend cracks a joke about me that even i find funny (and i do find it funny almost every time someone makes fun of me! ) i am not nuts am i? to be doing something like that? i mean, i don't think there is anything wrong if we're able to find the humor in the thing we do and laugh at ourselves sometimes...is there?

Hello mario. I'm accident prone, don't let me near your expensice dinner set or ornaments because I'll break them in no time, it's a standing joke so I've learned to laugh about it. I'm also prone to saying things that don't make sense, i know what i mean but others don't :) I always laugh at myself before others laugh at me, it's the best way :)

Bro, there's nothing wrong in being able to see humor and laughing at ourselves once in awhile.. I think that's more better than being too serious all the time. I think it's cool to be laughing at ourselves and keeping the stress level low.

I can laugh at myself. If somebody laughs at me, depends on the person, and what they were laughing at as to whether I will laugh along.

Hi mario, I'm sometimes very muddle-headed and make a lot of mistakes. There was one time in my university when I saw a friend coming towards me, I called out at her and there was no response. I kept calling her name a few times, and she and the person she was with stared strangely at me. Then they walked away. Until now, I'm still not sure whether I've got the wrong person. That was near the end of the course and I never met that friend another time so there was no way to verify it with her. What an idiot I feel then. There are countless other embarrassing incidents which I have encountered or created, so my skin has thickened a lot in the process, so much so that it's impenetrable now. lol. I think I seldom turn red from embarassment anymore but rather I have learnt to laugh at my own mistakes and move on. It does help my mental state of well-being.

hiya bluemoonpavilion so your skin is as thick as a rhino's? just kidding...hehe i had a few of those type of incidents myself...i feel so fortunate that i was able to turn it into a funny situation and i made the girl laugh. she became a good friend and we still laugh about that incident of how we met

If you can't laugh at yourself, you don't have to laugh at nobody. :)I do laugh strongly at peoples' faults if they're funny of course :) but if I do something stupid and someone laughs at me.. I laugh too. If I make fun on someone.. I make fun on myself too..

hiya wazaaa cool name i laugh at others too...but i only laugh out loud if i'm with my friends and i know tat they can take it without being offended. if not, i'll just save a mental picture in my head and just burst out laughing when i'm alone and they are not around

I can laugh at cilly things I do and I don't care if people think I'm some loonie LOL I used to live my life worrying what other people think about me now I only care about what those who care about me, think other than that, well life goes on :) I've been called many things one more name won't kill LOL

hi there LittleMel i too don't care if you're a loonie or i'm a loonie hehe.... there really is no point to keep on worrying about what others think. we are living our own lives. and if i had my way, it would be a life full of laughter and giggles and happy things... well, its obvious i don't have it my way, so i have to help the situation and start laughing at myself sometimes

Yes, I agree it is a great gift that we can laugh at ourselves - well most of us can anyway! No you are not nuts.. If I would say anything, I would say that somebody who couldn't laugh at themsevles and were always so serious, is more likely to be nuts! _Derek

haha! I AM JUST EXACTLY LIKE YOU! I dare say that I'm a happy-go-lucky person, and I can laugh and the tiniest and the lamest things, even my ownself! Call me crazy, but if I fall down in front of my friends or just anyone else, I find that funny! There was once that I remember, I fell down at the stairs, and when I was getting up, I just couldn't help but laugh at my clumsiness! My friends were all asking me,"are you alright? are you alright?" and all I could do was LAUGH! hahaha!

hiya ljy559 from what you have explained, i am so certain that you do have a great sense of humor.. there are those occasional occasions when i'm a bit clumsy myself and i trip and fall and hurt myself or something. most of the time, it is kind of funny..and the laughing always helps to ease the pain...

hiya Cherwin i like what you said: "life is to short..so let's have a fun.." that is so true. i would certainly prefer to enjoy my time here and fill it with as much giggles and laughter as possible...and hopefully push those bad memories out of the head forever

I guess, that train goes both ways. You can say that I am my greatest fan and critique. In my opinion, if you are able to be both for yourself, it just goes to show your maturity and confidence in yourself.

hiya Pauline i tend to think that way too! but i only think that way when i'm not too busy laughing in the first place....hehe. it feels nice to be able to laugh at my own little mistakes. it does make me feel better, and i can somehow think clearly about how i can avoid doing the same mistake again

yes of course. I know life can be a little bumpy sometimes but it's the bumps that makes the ride fun. I know that while i'm in the situation, it might not be so easy to laugh but after everything... that's when i get to see and appreciate the good of the bad. Though there are really some bad times too where i can laugh even if i'm still in the whole situation. I think that each of us just gotta see the beauty and the good of everything... it's important, it makes life even more beautiful if you have an attitude like that. :)
• Malaysia

those little bumps can get pretty exciting it's always good to be able to see on the positive side of things...at least it would keep our minds off the negative and bad things around us. and it feels much better to laugh too!

Think it's cool to laugh yourself. If nobody never laughed about theirselves before then they must be tha biggest d**k lol. Laughing at yourself to me is just another example that shows you nobodies perfect :P If nobody has nothing to laught about themselves I guess they really must be an a** and pick on ppl alot _ but anyways laughing at yourself for me is always a great way to brighten up the day, even laughing in general is cool :D if you really enjoy laughing, I would suggest you go on collegehumor.com, it's a funny website, with alot of hilarous videos! Hope ya myLoters out there get a chance to check it out (^.^) ENJOY!!!

I think you really do a great job. You did something I had never thought about. Indeed, I had made fun of other people, but you know the idea of making fun of myself never comes to my mind. It's really a innovation! I think I should try these kind of things to make my life more interesting!

Of course all the time even alone when i remember something funny. Even here in mylot when I log in I read lots of funny discussion even from some arrogant poster, confused poster, angry poster, sad, dramatic and witty poster..hahahah Why make the world so miserable for some so serious discussion then some reply so serious while it ended as funny while to other they get so affected so they revenge out from the poster..huh.. When I think of nearly depressed state i just think of funny things, watch comedy movies or read funny stuffs here and surf the internet. I feel relieved somehow... find humor in every things..that sounds good. hope all think the same the way you do..

I can see something funny in just about everything but I find that some people dont always see the funny side of life. I laugh at myself all the time because I can say the darnest things sometimes haha. They say if you laugh often, you live longer.....I can see myself at 140 yrs old....still laughing. I laugh at my self too. It's just sometimes wonderful to laugh at yourself when you are making mistakes. I sometimes think that I have already done it so there's nothing else to worry. I just have to make it up the next time. I don't want to get upset. I'd rather laugh at myself than to be sad.

Ah, Mario. I like your discussion question. I'd have to say that yes, I can laugh at myself. But only afterward. I mean, let's say I do something stupid or make a mistake, at that exact moment I'm annoyed with myself. Possibly upset or angry. But after getting through that emotion, I usually laugh at myself and wonder why the heck I did that. Or how did that even happen? I mean, I'm not the only one who makes mistakes in this world!
• Malaysia

hiya StephanieAnnC you're absolutely right there we're not the only ones who make mistakes in the world.. and most of the time, the mistakes that happen to us are really darn funny..hehe and when it is funny... i usually don't really care if anyone is laughing at me or not. i just go on laughing anyway
