I am going to be going to college an hour away from where I live and I would like to know what to expect. Is the school work a lot harder then the work in high school? Is the work like genius hard? Am i going to be buried in homework that I don't even understand? Also, what should I expect in a dorm? Are people usually noisy or what?

highschool and college are a lot different from each other. first of would be, freedom. When I was on college I had more freedom compared to when I was in highscool. I think because my parents trusted me more. And another thing about freedom is, I was free to wear any clothing i wanted (no uniforms) and free to go anywhere I want after class. Gates are opened all the time, so you can go out anytime you want. Unlike in highschool, classes have many breaks. But college life is harder than highschool life though because if harder and more complicated lessons.

So i guess self control and organization can make all this new stuff in college easier to handle. I guess a high school mentality in college won't do me much good in college. thanks for letting me know.

wow...thanks for the responses guys. I guess college will be alittle harder then highschool. But then again I always paid attention in class and in the end I didn't feel like I had to try hard to pass certain classes. I just wanna know if I can get by on that same mentality or do I have to focus mega hard in college to get by with a B or something.

College life is different from high school because in college we can enjoy our life and at the same time we have to study .........but in high school we are guide by Teacher and they come in time to time to teach us......whereas Teacher come and go.

From my point of view I find there is verse different between high school and college. In school we have to wear uniform,we have to go to school regularly, each and every step student's were guide by the teachers and also student's have to get lots of scold from teachers. In the college we tread as a grown person.Life is free because is on our hand whether to study or not.All day to day lesson have to learn by our self.

According to me college life and high school life is completely differently. In college we get lots of freedom were as in school we are not we have to follow the rules and regulations. In school we have to go to school regularly were as college we have gap. In school teachers will give full time to the student to guide were as in college they will give less time.so every life is different.

college is very different to school. You enjoy lot in school, but i am not saying that u can't enjoy in college, people do. School u have your teacher's in each and every steps of your classes. But in college people are grown up, you are no more kid here. All intelligent but they more care about their studies. Have to do lots of practicals...hope u have watch the movie " three idiots" this movie act-ally shows what college days mean. You also wanted to know whether the college is noisy or not, in fact it is and it very hard in the college. So do prepare for the college and i wish u a very best of luck.

Lessons are hard when you don't study or listen to professors or teachers. It has always been that way even in high school. I guess high school and college are different in terms of how you deal with other people. You're now on your own. Professors won't go after you if you fail to give requirements. They don't feed you anymore since they believe that you're in the right age to do things on your own. Also, professors compared to high school teachers have more academic freedom.:D
