MyLot is strict like it always has been.
Maybe there are more users compared to before who don't read the Guidelines and think that 'anything goes'. That is not the case, just in the same way as it never was.
These notifications can help us to understand where not to post and which topics to avoid and then we will see fewer arriving because we will have fewr or no deletions at all.

He he Diana you took the words from my mouth. I too want to say the same mylot rules is like It always been. This so truth, because some myLot users do not read the rules and they think that this is something new. Also I agre with this notifications, because they really help to us be more careful next time when we will respond to other discussions.

Yes it is all so positive.
Sadly there are way too many who do not realise that without Guidelines, myLot would have failed many years ago. It is only because it is kept clean that it kept the standards up and continues gaining new users who will all be paid like the rest of us, if they follow them too

Yes If myLot would be company without rules It do not live more than few months. It is nice that there is so strict rules, because in every field need a discipline. Every site had own rules and If we want to be a little part of them we need to appcept the rules and we need respect them.

I really hate it when this happens. I have had two discussions who two of my friends started that were removed. Now to me, they did not look like poll questions, but apparently myLot thought different and they were discussions that I put a lot of thought into my answer.
But I think it has to do with how one phrases the question. If one is simply going to say 'what do you like white chocolate or dark chocolate," of course it is going to be deleted. But if one gives a story of working in a candy factory and there were not enough samples and you took some white chocolate but found it too sweet," then that would not get deleted.
Oh I did work in a candy factory for one day - between jobs - very dangerous for someone who has a sweet tooth, but we were not given any samples.

I had only one discussion removed, because I was forgot post orginal source from my text. When myLot team delete discussion they sent a reason to email. Yes when this happens we had bad feeling. I had only some responses deleted, because members had violated the rules. Job in candy factory sound nice.

I only had one of my discussions deleted but I asked for them to do it, because I posted it twice. However, the other times I did that = either slow computer or too popular myLot - the double discussions stayed. So it is mostly when someone violates the guidelines that the post gets deleted.
However, I hate it when someone posts a discussion that might be construed as a poll question.
I loved the job in the candy factory but I hated wearing that hair net. And I did want to get a free chocolate Easter rabbit or even some of the throwaways, but did not.
Anyway I got a call for a regular office work and it was just temporary, the candy factory, that is.

You get this message when a questions violates the terms & conditions of Mylot. Like a discussion started by one of my friends and the discussion was 'Which one do you like the most, PC or Laptop?' and later on it was deleted. Then by doing a little research, I came to know that this question was already asked before. So yeah, there are administrators who keep their eyes on all the discussions. I think we should take care of what we are posting to. You don't want your points being deleted.

Yes. Mylot has become more strict about posts that violates the TOS or the guidelines. I think that's really something that makes mylot a very good site because it does not tolerate members posting posts that violates its TOS.
It is a bit frustrating because some of my posts got deleted more than ever before . I can't do anything about it but rather avoid violating any TOS and guidelines through the comments I post.
Best of luck.

I do too. I have some responses removed and I even have discussions deleted but it is ok for me. At least I am reminded that my posts did not adhere to the way of making a topic. It says that it is like poll question? well, I did not realize that until 3 of my discussions have been deleted. But it is fine with me. At least next time I will be careful on making my topic.

Yes, I do get that a lot, and as long as users won't read the guidelines, there will continue to be these messages. I, like you, will not post to discussions I know will be deleted, however, I will help once in awhile, as the only way they are going to stop is if they are told what they are doing wrong. That is our responsibility to tell them, and mylot expects that of su. It isn't all that much that is lost anyway, so I feel I might as well help, in the hopes it will curb discussions being delted for violations. I am glad that I do get the message, as it lests me know which ones were deleted. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I won't give a long response in case this is removed too -- but YES, I'm finding more and more discussions are being removed. And some I just don't get why. A recent discussion I replied to was about cereal and the next morning I got a message that it was removed! It didn't say why though, and I don't care to re-read the TOS to figure it out.
Lately I find myself responding to very few discussions because of that. It's a waste of time if it won't stay for long. Photos are almost never removed, so I find it's safer to express myself that way (check out the photos in this interest and you'll find that I made a lot of the graphics).

Actually, photos are quite often removed. I removed approximately 400 images just today.

We have to read guidelines carefully to avoid our responses or discussion being deleted by the admin. I've just received notification like this:
This is a notification from myLot.
Your answer has been deleted because the question it was under was deleted.
Original Question Title: who is more active on mylot???male or female???
Thank you for using myLot!
I've just realized the discussion I answered violated the guidelines after received notification . That was poll question and this is prohibit here. It's really need our deeply thought before respond to discussions. Often we just make responses due to interesting topics without think it first deeply. Well, I hope we could learn from our faults.

I've only had one discussion I've participated in deleted, and I haven't had any of my own discussions deleted, probably because I try to follow the rules.

The notifications regarding deleted discussions are automatic and we cannot set them so that they do not arrive.
If you want to stop receiving notifiers when your friends start discussions then go here:
http://www.mylot.com/nr/friends.aspx?t=0
and set them to 'off' beside each friend.

Go to preferences (link very top of page) and under notifications you'll be able to check/uncheck that option to receive e-mails.

I think it is a good improvement. At least people are warned about what type of discussions are being removed. When I first started, discussions were deleted without warning. I got a notification couple weeks ago tell me my response has been deleted because of the question is was under was deleted.
I can tell when new members have not read the guidelines because they post topics which is going to be deleted. Before the notifications, if I was in a mood to inform new members to help them here, I would advise them if I was the first person to respond, especially on referral links, knowing that my response would be deleted. It was only because, I didn't want to see them get their discussions delete and then come back and ask why.
I can say, Mylot, good decission. It may help the new members. I hope it does.

Yes, I got that to, even my discussion was removed. Haha. I guess we have to identify if the discussion is violating the TOS first before responding or starting a discussion.

hello nesh,i think our responses got deleted everytime there is a violation happened.
for sometime, there are discussions which is surprising to be deleted because of it's unusual topics, but i guess there are topics which are like that before, that's why it always been deleted.there were also possibilities of copy paste topics which are really not right.but i haven't heard if it got deleted.
if you start a discussion, make sure you are not violating rules for it not to be deleted, cause when you accumulate members to respond there, and you commented back, all those efforts will turn to waste cause you can't earn from it.also try to avoid those discussions which will be deleted.
normally,i have seen those discussions being deleted after 24 hours i guess.for it not to be more useful enough and stop those responses and comments back and forth.
yeah,it feels sad for sometime when you got your longer post there then finding it the next day to be deleted, what the ....?
what do we have to do? just learn to respond on those topics which is safe and avoid those violating topics...
