I have been inching day by day working myself into a complete frenzy. I realized that my current situation is contributing to my wrecking circumstances. I have been slowly for the last eight months really on edge and it's growing edgier by the day!
I am literally working myself into a very hectic state. I certainly do not want to alter my brain in away by resorting to any form of amphetamines or street type "pharma".
So my question to you, how do you deal with your nerves and what can you advise would be a healthy and safe approach?

It may be beneficial for you to set aside a few minutes each day to meditate and do some deep breathing techniques in order to relax. We underestimate how just a few moments of relaxation and focusing on mindfulness can really turn our day around! I know one breathing technique is to take deep breaths and picture the breath going in and out of your mouth as you inhale then exhale. I use this technique before bed sometimes in order for me to calm down and get a good nights rest. I'm sure it could help make your day less hectic as well! Just try not to fall asleep! :)

Yes meditation and long walks have helped me quite a bit. This was a very difficult time I was undergoing a year ago. Although all of my issues have not been resolved, I have learned to handle things much better.
Sadly so many people around also have issues so I tend to distance myself from them as well as the negativity can get to me as well and I do try to be as positive as I can given the circumstances. Thank you kindly for responding.

Hey hwg! I love your avatar! That is so "kewl" and so me too!
First of all, if you are on edge and you took amphetamines you
would be jumping off the nearest roof! Amphetamines wind you
up and make you more jumpy so never take any of them please!
In fact don't take anything without a doctors prescritption!
First, what is the problem? You didn't say what is getting you
all worked up so how can we help you when we don't know the
problem? So, what is the situation? If you give us more info
maybe we can give you some suggestions?

The company investors are caught up in some shady dealings... Like Oh my God how could I work there for so long, 19+ years by the way and end up with nothing. I started really young and am in my early forties, and my two children are both 26 and 24, so although they are in college the state does not consider me helpless.
I have owned my home for 21 years and it is now in foreclosure, I have gone through all my savings just to continually pay minimum balances on my bills, unknowingly that I would still be jobless after eight months. So I am getting hundreds of creditors blowing up my phone, no income and losing my home. The state does not help someone like me as they feel I can work. Absolutely but no one will hire me as there are hundreds of applicants for the single positions and well it is easier to get a job when you have one and no one will take the time to hear why I am not working.
I am trying everyday to maintain a straight face but what this is doing is eating m alive inside. So can you see now what my nerves are inching. I fall into prayer every other second of the day, with hopes that one day my prayers will be answered. To have worked since I was 16 and loose everything is one thing but to not be able to eat is another.
Sorry had to vent for two seconds.

Yeah that is what I thought, never have and boy do not need too right now. I have not been able to even afford to see a doctor and well there is no such thing as free at least anywhere near me.
So I basically was asking if anyone knew of any home remedies that perhaps may calm me down as I am really really on edge.
I have a ton of things going on right now as a direct affliction of having lost my 19+ yr job and not even entitled to unemployment, so virtually for the last 8 months zero income.
Lord knows I have lost track of after like hundreds and hundreds of applied jobs and nothing is giving.. I am losing everything I have as a single parent worked so very hard to have earned. I am ok with my losses it is the fact that I just can't even pick up the pieces to even attempt to replenish my emotional state. It is a very delicate situation with the entire business and well I was let out in the dark.
I realize there are so many people perhaps in worse situation than me, however I have absolutely nothing left so I have nothing else to lose but my sanity and well my nerves are inching to get me there.
Thanks for responding, I really appreciate it.

Many times I think we will often experience something like this. It could be from change in weather making us feel uptight, or change in things around us, etc. I know for me a lot of times it could be just from stress of not getting enough sleep or other factors as well. Learning how to take deep breaths, walking around, and coming in here and talking about things I am sure helps as well.

Hi Tina!
Yes this discussion I did was a year ago, at which time was the beginning of a complete nightmare for me. Though I am not out of the woods yet, I have learned to take it easy, and concentrate more on me these days.
Thanks for resounding.

Hello stowyk!
I underwent a really tough almost 2 years and was at my wits end a year ago. I have since learned how to calm and sooth the nerves although there are times I still can loose it.
Times are so hard but giving up is no option. I have re-affirmed my faith and really praying for a better time. I am glad that I have been here as many of you have been answers to prayers. Being able to interact here has allowed me to look at life differently, I am ever so grateful for so many of you being sincere with all your interactions. Something that I will always appreciate myLot for as here I can forget a few of my offline issues.
I am not out of the woods yet but can say that my feelings have been much better from a year ago. Thanks so much for kindly responding. Oh yes exercise and quiet times have also helped a great deal. I have been appreciating nature walking much more now then I have ever before.

I actually got up this morning and started to research yoga and meditation. Since I can't afford to see a doctor right now, I thought I try these out.

It sounds that you are burned out. Just take a few days off work if possible, sleep and go out and chill with your friends and family members. Take care, my friend.
