I believe that a good blog provides value to the reader, in the way of information, humour or simply a good story. I have a blog myself http://millionnzdollars.blogspot.com where I try and share my experiences to create a million dollars online, thereby creating value for readers that may want to make money online themselves and can learn from my mistakes.
A good blog has lots of information, regularly updated content and is easy to read!

Thanks! Nice response. I have been blogging for a while. My main blog is sort of a mishmosh of family history and whatever I am thinking or experiencing. I sometimes wonder if it is worth anything. I have also started a niche blog and plan to start a couple of others. Just curious. Thanks again.

Awww...thanks. I try. I also have a blog on writingUp where I have tried to be a little bit more on a topic--sort of an inspirational/motivational niche with the idea of finding meaning in everday life. It's called A Meaningful Life. I have a harder time writing in that one, though, for a couple of reasons. I plan to have my own site soon and i will probably have a blog similar to the one you looked at and also hope to have an astrological blog someday. I know, I'm a bloggin' fool. :) So, this is why I am curious what is interesting to readers. More general, mix it up, niche. Is my family really interesting to anyone? You know. :D Again, thanks for the comment, the look and the compliment.

Great. Thanks for the information. I'm glad to hear you like blogs about real life, because that is what I like to write and I wondered if it was interesting to people or not. Of course, there are all different way to write about real life-interesting and not. I try to be interesting. :)

Thanks for responding. So, it is just what randomly attracts your attention? Hmmm...they don't want to post this comment for some reason. I wonder if it will work now.

blogs in my opinion are seriously boring things a person writes
if a person is entertaining enough and make it funny
i can sit and read
else i dont hav patience to look at boring paragraphs abt ppl

Well, yes, I'm sure the blog is only as good as the writer and will not be interesting to you unless you enjoy the subject matter. I think it's tricky to find the good ones sometimes, because they are so prevalent--anyone can start one for free. So, the quality has a wide variance. Good points.

Hmmm...thanks. I am not very interested in sports, but I will definitely check out the other ones. There is so much to learn about making money online. And of course, now it is a huge industry in and of itself--talking about making money online! Heh heh...accidentally typed that "onlie" at first. ;)

I like to read blogs and there are so many sites that feature some form or another, some I have seen are: Blogspot, Blogevolve, bloggerparty, blogtopsites, technorati, blogcritics, blogcharm, blogitive. If the blog is informative and full of interesting tidbits, I am hooked.

Thanks for your response and answering the question put forth! I, too, am interested in the whole work at home phenomena. It seems there are more than a few work at home blogs out there.

Yes, myLot can take up a lot of time. :) It is a good way to learn some interesting things about people, though. (And some not-so-interesting things!) Yes, the blogosphere is really taking off these days.

I have not branched off to the blogging yet. I do, from time to time, read some if my searches lead me to them. Maybe in time I will get into the blogging thing lol.

I sometimes read a blog when I surf the Internet, but I don't "follow" a specific blog no.

That's cool. So many people are looking to learn more about blogging. I think it is a medium that is only going to expand even more as the years go by. Thanks for your response!

Ahhh...so you are a great blog reader, huh. I wonder about subscriptions. I can't handle magazine subscriptions and I don't think I'd be too good at blog subscriptions either. I don't really have enough time for all that right now. But I suppose, blog entries tend to be short. Thanks for your views!

I read all kinds of blogs. As long as they have good original and intersting content.
Burtle's blog mentioned in one of the first responses is interesting.
