I love my computer I spend many hours in it's company but when thing start to go wrong the frustration is unbearable. I'll just work til it quits and then turn it over to a computer expert who charges by the hour. Joy

What is the problem? There's not necessarily a need to just have an expensive repairman look at it. Maybe you can solve it yourself with some guidance from me or another member.

Not if he doesn't specify his problem. I am not some magician. ;-)

Aren't you totally nice to offer. We have cable and we also have vonage phone lines. The whole system has been going down several times a day. We think it may need a new modem and are checking on that. Right now when ever it goes down we unplug everything and let it rest about 15 mins. then start it up again and it's good to go until the next time. Thanks aain, I may come back for more suggestions if the new modem doesn't work.

Open the window first or you will be dealing with having to repair a perfectly good window.

When a computer causes us problems, it can make a person very tired, I know. Hopefully, you will be able to get the computer expert to have a look at it. I also hope that it will end your frustration as well.

Hey, I've been in the same boat as you are talking about right now. There have been times that my computer has failed me when I can least afford for it to happen. But, that doesn't mean that I really want to throw it out the window. I typically just want to throw it at my in-house computer guru because I feel like when the computer starts acting up, he doesn't care at all about the frustrations that I have to go through. I hope the new modem works for you.

Yes Im sure some of us here can help. Just tell us whats wrong and maybe its nothing serious. Maybe you just need to CLEAN it. Do a disk cleanup, defrag and then it'll be as new. So whats wrong???

What you mean you have to clean them? We have defragged and may need a new modem, this one is several years old. Thanks so much for the offer, if we can't cure it I'll be back asking questions.

You have to clean ID, clean the cookies, clean your antivirus, you also have to clean the TEMP FILES and do a disk cleanup.....then a defrag!! I do this every night.

maybe it is time to retire your comp as it has logged enough hours of service. Repair can be expensive .

I know how you feel. I have been there, done that. I use to spend hours on my computer and the thing had me so frustrated I would leave it for a while and come back later. Once I settled down a little I would be able to solve the problem. Plus I had a computer geek friend that I could call that would help me out. Now I am a self proclaimed computer geek and I usually can fix the frustrated problem myself. I haven't torn one (a computer) up lately. (smile)*** Don't give up you will get there. Have faith in yourself.

I can relate to your frustration so much! I have a history of computer hassles and I have been pushed to tears on more than a few occasions! I can fix most problems myself these days because I have kept a log of all the problems I’ve had to refer to in the future. What kind of problems are you experiencing pat? Can we help in any way or is it really for a technician to look at? If it is the latter shop around because the charges can vary dramatically. Your discussion was done around nine hours ago…I hope you didn’t throw the PC out of the window!
