I stumbled upon this when I was looking for trivias. In the original fairy tale sleeping beauty, the princess was raped before she wakes up.

Woah?! Where did you get this info? I didn't know this. Its a bit frustrating... because it's one of my favorite fairytales. Maybe it's ommitted because it's usually read by children... Hihi... :P

Found it! Thanks for the link. However, I wouldn't bother checking it out here in the office. Maybe some other time at home :P My husband just got the link so he could check it out now. I suppose he's more excited than me. Haha.

i always wanted to live in a fairytale. maybe reading this now, it would be better if i dont. the story seem to be more tragic than anything. anyway, i hope that's not the real thing..many aspiring little girls would be heart broken for the story

Too bad, because most fairy tales are originally cruel and down right nasty before they became Disney movies where they changed the ending to happily ever after.

Most of the fairytails were quite grim. The original version of sleeping beauty was from Giambattista Basile. In the early 1600s, he made a story called "Sun, Moon and Talia" where a not so good "married" prince finds beauty and rapes her.

So funny I just read that story... She fell in love with her rapists. They had twins. The rapist's wife found out about the twins and ordered then cut up, cooked and served to their father. The cook had a heart and only served goat meat.

Hmmm...maybe that's not the real story...maybe it was just made up.

It was a fairytale, and fairy tales are made up if you didn't know or noticed. Though there are original stories. Original is different from real, I'm just pointing that out to you.

I really do not understand your post what do you mean that she was raped before she was awake is their footage did you read about this or are you just using your logic to come up with this conclusion, i would like more detail to your entry.

I found it on a trivia site, I wrote the link on one of the comments here, just copy and paste it. It has the story there but I don't like rewriting the story because I might ruin it and I like people to find things out for themselves so i decided not to tell all of it.

I even read some stories that scare children to not try doing things. A story of a child playing with matches ended up blazing in fire. Stories of the Grimm's brothers are darker version too.
