If so, waht kind of jams do you make? I used to make jams of just about anything when the kids were little. I had thi pantry full of goodies and the hope in my heart that whey would last until the next season. They never did. Blackberry jam was the one that disappeared first. I made lots but there were this little thieves that went with a spoon hinking I would not notice. Now I only make apricot jam from the tree I have in my backyard and an orange-carrot jam that one of my friends loves. How about you? Do you make jams? What are your favorites? Share!

It is very common in my country to make jams. My mom used to do it and my brother and I loved to eat apricot jam in the morning before school. As the best apricots grow in Armenia the jam of it is delicious. I can also prepare jams but I don't have the time. We also make preserves from different berries and fruits. My favorite is the walnut preserve. Surprised? Yes they make it from green walnuts before it hardens. It's very tasty.

I love home made jam. My Mum used to make it a lot when she retired and I tried my hand at it as well. Dad had a small varied orchard with a wonderful variety of fruit trees so there was jam and bottled fruit. I was not so lucky and fruit now is just too dear to buy. Even store bought jam is very dear and some don't have much flavour other than sugar. Mum's Satsuma plum jam was the best.

I have made strawberry freezer jam for years but i didn't this year. It has always been a fave of my sons but the one i see had gotten where he didn't want any so i didn't make any this year. I usually make pear preserves but i have some left from last summer. I end up giving most of it away & seems silly to continue to do this . I'll say i'm not making any this tear but we'll see, lol. wish i had some of those apricots that u have, i love them.

No, I don't, but I would love to learn, since I think it is a great skill to have. And it sounds like fun too! My mother used to make jams at home when I was a child, and they always smelled wonderful!

I got a reciepe for pinaeapple jam and I tried. It was good that first place. But since then I found out that I sued a lot of sugar which made me became conscious of my sugar consumption and I stopped making jam as well as eating jam. If my children ask for any I still go to the supermarket for our favourite pineapple jam.

I do love jam but usually only my own. What a snob hey! Nah, really it is that store bought jams turned me off because they were way to sweet. Can't really even taste the berry for the sweetness. My grandma made homemade jam and marmalade and again to sweet for me but much more enjoyable as far as flavor goes. So later in when I became a young mom wanting my kids to have homemade jam. I use to just make a small batch at a time. This way I could sweeten it as much as I wanted. Mostly strawberry, raspberry and blackberry. Blueberry jam was not a favorite as to me they are more enjoyable to eat as they are.

Yes, occasionally I will make my own jam. Actually I learned how to make the mango jam from TV. And I am very successful to make it by myself. It is easy and very delicious. It can make a nice cool drink in hot summer. I love China

Hi margicha, Not much so to say. Rather than making them at home we love to buy from market. Actually ours is a small family and hence my wife does not show any proclivity towards making any jam or like that. Few years back she had made jam of guava. Yes it was nice. They are quite available round the year at our place here. Be it made of anything I love the taste of jam.

Hi, I love to eat bread with strawberry and blackberry jam. All the time, I just bought the ready-made jam available in the supermarket. Never try to make my own homemade jam yet, although I have the recipe for making the jam. I just worry the taste of the jam might not turn to be good, So better just get the ready made one and save my time too. However,I hope one day I might have try to make my home made jam.

Hiya marguicha, I love apricot jam and also blackberry jam there is nothing like homemade jam. I did make some lemon curd once and it was very very nice I have to say it. It was wonderful. My Mom and me once made Tomato Chutney and that was really good too. Fresh Blackberries are very hard to come by here as I live in a very small place I would have to go to the Capital places like Madrid to find any. Apricots the fresh one I can get those but you have to buy them and ripen them as they are always unripened. We used to eat loads of fresh blackberries in England at one time but now they seem to be scarce too. But we never turned them into Jam as my Mom had to work long hours and then walk miles to go and pick us up to go home but otherwise she would have carried on making things like that. I like Jam made from Higos as well I donĀ“t know what you call them in English but they are really delicious and they make fantastic Jam.

My mom used to make guave jam before but she doesnt do it now cause we dont have guavas anymore. She sometimes do that but not as often as she did before. I wanted to try making my own strawberry jam but strawberries are not available here in my place. I was actually thinking about cooking it with honey.

I also used to make jams of just about anything. The most curious jam I ever make was the red melon jam. In fact it was more like a confiture. But I stopped doing so many jars of jam, as they keep building up in the store, with nobody eating them. I used to give some jars of jam to any visitors I had, just to get rid of them from the store. :)) Now I don't make so many type of jams, our favourites are those made from quince (those are my husband's favourites) and from sour cherry (those are my favourites, I like the sour cherry jam in pancakes - Mmmm!)
