Hey basketball lovers, I'm sure most of you guys have heard this name recently. Jeremy Lin the first, or second Asian American player in NBA. I just watched his games today on youtube, and personally I think he's pretty good. Not because he's asian, and I'm asian...The guy actually got skills and intelligence.
I think this guy will do better than Yao Ming. Of course I think Yao Ming is also good, but to be honest, he doesn't have that superstar quality on him.
While this guy, I think he'll do better than Yao Ming. I could compare him to Steve Nash, my other favorite player in NBA. They both can score or pass depending on situation. I'm happy that I heard Lin recently signed a contract with Golden State Warriors. I'm looking forward to see his performance. What do you guys think about him? Do you think he'll be a decent player or just OK level of player? Considering he's only 21, do you think he'll be able to improve his skills over the years, and get even better?

I have seen him play in the Summer League games on TV and yes, he is the new asian sensation. The guy got skills on and off the court. But I honestly don't think he'll a bigger impact in the game as Yao Ming did. Yao Ming is the center piece of the Houston Rockets , he was before his injury keep on reoccurring.
It's a nice thing that he got signed by the Warriors. As the respondent above mentioned, there is no guarantee that a player can play as well as everyone projected him to be. Win or Bust, that's it.
I do have to compare Jeremy Lin to another player who played really well during the NBA Summer League and also got signed by the GSW last 2007. Marco Belinelli. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Belinelli#Golden_State_Warriors ... He has better international experience than Jeremy Lin but didn't turn out as expected when he played for the Warriors for two seasons. Jeremy Lin should really give it his all if he want Don Nelson to trust him and throw him in the season.

Belinelli got traded to the Raptors on his 3rd season (last season). Thanks for pointing out the pressure NBA hopefuls are feeling because of the fans. As well as the game's critics which pressures the new guys more. I just hope Jeremy Lin will have a good start as well as polished game all throughout. We'll just have to wait when next season starts. :)

Wasn't Belinelli traded to Raptors? Yea I agree with you. Belinelli was a good player. I think one thing is that Jeremy might get a lot of pressure from the fans. Seems like everyone's expecting him to play well, which is sometimes hard. Also, the way they play basketball in college level and NBA is definitely not the same. Jeremy needs to be able to adapt in a new style of playing, new team mates, and new environment. I'm so excited to see him play.

He looks like he's got good potential but I doubt we will see it much given who he has ahead of him at the guard spots in Golden State. Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis are both very talented players who have already shown what they can do. Lin could be a decent backup though.

Yea I agree. He would be a good backup. But, correct me if I'm wrong, Monta, Stephen, and Jeremy are all point guards aren't they? They all have similar heights too which is about 6'3. It just came up to my mind that it might be a little hard for him to start or even to play because of the competition in this position. Monta will definitely be the first choice, and Stephen was showing a great performance last season. What do you think about this?

Its always hard to say how anyone will turn out in the NBA. There have been so many high profile busts that really no player is a guarantee. Yao was a little different in that he already had a lot of international experience. Being a legitimate center at 7/6 ( damm that's tall) with a good skill set already in place, helps him a lot.
I haven't seen a lot of film of Jeremy Lin. He looks good but Golden State is a crazy team with a lot of problems. If he can survive there, then he is legit and can survive. At least, he will get some playing time.

Yea I guess you're right as well. It's hard to judge how a player will turn out in NBA. I couldn't believe Golden State was doing bad this past season. They have Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. Monta was one of the leading scorer in NBA, and Stephen was pretty close to be the rookie of the year. I know 2 good players might not be able to make a huge difference because well, basketball is a team sport. I just hope to see how Jeremy will turn out.
