Softner as detergent

Hello friends!!!!!!!!!!!!! My confusion is last week i bought fabric softner.I actually didnot notice it is softner.Since the can was in detergent section i bought without looking in to it clearly.I bought it by thinking tht it was a detergent.Y'day when i opend i realised tht it was fabric softner.Here is my doubt, Can I use softner as detergent , will it remove dirts in the cloth or it will work only as refreshing clothes , not as detergent. Note: Its not multiple action liquid.Its softner only.
