The simple life

I've always viewed myself as simple and uncomplicated as long as i had work, a roof over my head and music i'd be fine i don't really go out at night and when i do it's usually to play music in a bar as soon as that's done i head home and sleep so that i can be up and ready at 6am to work i don't buy clothes as much as the next guy so usually i'd have a fresh shirt every 2 or 3 months. That's when i usually buy. Usually I just receive shirts from friends and other people. most of my pants are over 2 years old and have been lovingly worn and abused my money usually just goes directly to the bank and i don't look at it just so i don't get tempted i love my life. simple.

There's nothing wrong with your life! It sounds like you have a good life and I too love the simple life! I don't go out myself and I scarcely spend a lot of money. I do love my music and I tend to listen to that on my ipod touch. I'm not a huge fan of fashion trends and I only ever wear what makes me comfortable. This is what I love about society! Everyone is an individual and you can live your life the way you please just as long as it doesn't hurt other people in the process. The simple, uncomplicated life definitely sounds like a stress free life and I'm definitely all for that as I cannot take stress, I'm not that good in handling it! Well, it's nice of you to share the way you live, it's great. Andrew

I feel envious of the life you lead, I wish I could say my life were as simple, Here we live pay check to geesh hope payday gets here soon. Along with plenty of family drama from both sides of mine and my husbands family. I find myself awake a lot at night just enjoying time alone by myself to reflect and not have interruptions like the day time hours brings. Yet it goes so fast. We don't venture out at night either, usually spend the evenings catching up on tv shows together or just doing things online. Enjoy that life you lead and it's luxury, you are blessed in that aspect.

hi chipesterkhan at least unlike so many you have saved some money and in a case of real need it is there for you to use. I think more of us should try the simple life. less stress, less worry about whether or not we have the latest electronic gadget or the Jones have more 'than we do.But as a woman nope I have to buy new things every once in a while, We need the pleasure that clothes shopping gives us also our boy friends and hubbies expect us to look nice all the time hence we keep our wardrobes up.But living here in Gold Crest its brought' me to the same thing as you are talking about the simple life. I only have one hundred twenty five dollars left each month after the rent and board are taken out of my social security and ssI checks. hence living simply and I like it. I have a place to sleep , food to eat and my computer and monitor. great discussion by the way.

Wow, I like your lifestyle! It is simple and practical. But for my case it is different because I am married and have a family of my own. I personally have a simple life too! I hardly buy new cloths, no new Dvds or Cds. I can't save because the cost of living here in Malaysia is quite high. At the moment, I will be retiring soon...just wonder how to maintain the lifestyle without fresh income

What else you need as you are happy in your present state of being. I too believe in simple living high thinking. I have not imitated any one in buying any costly items, be it replacement of the tv set or music player or even my car. I am what I am. Happy the way I am holding the steering of the vehicle of my life. Just I have money in my pocket and drop at some mall and but unnecessary thing is not me. When I feel I need something and this is a must then only i push myself forward. a happy and contented life is what I love. I even do not frequent to my friends or relatives. why I disturb their seemingly peaceful worlds. Nice friend, we share a lot here.

Earn while we are young, save while we can. Spend on necessities (need) not on wants.. We can't keep up with the highly evolved gadgets with so much technologies nowadays. Many people spend their money on latest gadgets. Keep life simple and be happy. Once in awhile we should reward ourselves for the hard work we put in. Go for holiday to take a break and go for a wonderful meals with our love ones and show some appreciation and love to them. Life will be great that way... right!

I want to live simply too but my current situation prevents me from doing so. I don't have any vices and I rarely have night outs too. I hope I can be frugal at times and stay away from seeing my money too. I hope I could live my life as simple as you do

Your simple life is just as pleasant. You are among the rare few I know here. Keep it that way. You would always be happy.

As for me, I wish I could live off the land. I don't like having a smart phone (but I think that I will need an iPhone once I move to the US...I want to talk to my family!) I will need an strong internet connection though. For now, I am ok with just having great internet connection, books, and music. The jewelry I have come mostly from friends. I'm not the type to go out drinking, and I prefer coffee and conversation with friends over that. I hardly buy clothes. The very thing I spend way too much on though are books. I think I have over 500 of them, but have only read about 150. I'd like to think that my life is simple enough. Yet aside from the want to live off the land, I'd want to have just enough so that I can afford to be generous.
