What do you do when you get failing grades?

I failed in some of my subjects in college and I transfered to another university and changed the course I was taking. I'm not sure if what I did was right. I was wondering what other people would have done if they were in my position.

Of course everybody used to fail in any subject in which they are weak. I used to fail in chemistry because I was really poor in balancing equation and i used to try my level best as one of my friend used to say try and try until u success.though I was not perfect but atleast i knew something about chemical and equation.

I failed the subjects because I didn't go to school. I got tired waking up early in the morning.

I don't have problems memorizing. I just get bored studying. Try writing the formula and memorizing it. This method works for me.

Hello. I'm sorry to hear about the failing grades. I would feel very frustrated if I were in your position. Regarding what to do, I suggest you to take some time and reflect. Assess how you do your things and handle your studies. Are you allowing ample time to study, review your notes, do your homework and keep a good record of your attendance? Does it have to do with the subject that you don't like or don't have innate skills at all? If so, then you need to double your time to understand it and keep yourself up for it. You may not get the highest score but at least you will get a fairly decent grade that won't be an eyesore when someone looks at your Transcript of records by the time you apply for an employment. Good luck!

I actually have bad study habits when I was still in my previous school but now, I'm trying to do better. I made a schedule on what time I should start studying and what subjects I should focus more on. Things have worked well ever since. Thanks a lot!

Failure is not the end of life! This is the first rule. Though success is sweet, we cannot avoid failures in life no matter how smart we feel we are. Many great people of today had failed severally in the past, but in the end they become stars of all times. So what's very important is to learn what caused the failure. This is where the solution to it lies. There's an adage in my land: "When a child falls, he looks at the front, but when an adult falls, he looks behind to see what had caused him to fall" Simple! A wise persons flashes back and investigate his past actions. Therefore in the spirit of another adage that says "Beheading in not an antidote for headache", changing the school may not necessarily be the solution for you. It will be a solution only after you've investigated your past actions and you're convinced that you were doing everything right, except that the school did you some harm. Now that you have changed, the best is to still investigate everything that surrounded your actions in the past, identify the flaws and fix them so that failures will not be repeated in your new course. Be hard working and dedicated to you study and i wish you success henceforth. Finally, take a word from Winston Churchill" "Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. The courage to to continue is what counts"

I haven't experienced having failing grades. And I don't want such thing to happen to me. A lot of people will be disappointed. Hmmm.... but if you have received a failing grade then your efforts must have been not enough and you need to push yourself more. Anyway, you're still adjusting give the university and the course a chance.:D Moreover, don't give up and continue to work hard.:D

It's actually my second year in my current university. I've adjusted well enough. I agree that my efforts weren't enough in my previous school but I'm trying to do better. Thanks.

I regretted every single failing grade I had because it was not supposed to happen if only I didn't skip class; if only i didn't engage myself into countless drinking sprees and what not. That's just it. I regret , I feel bad and I move on.. that's after hearing all the disappointments and frustrations my parents felt upon knowing I failed.. That was before. I am a changed person now. :) Just keep on trying and trying until you succeed. You're not the only one who's failing, so don't worry about it. If you study hard, for sure you'll pass. If you try to cheat, try not to get caught (Kidding). :) Just keep your hopes up and everything will fall into place. Best of luck

I used to skip class because I got bored. I got tired of waking up early just to get to class. But now that I'm in a new school, I learned to study harder and things have worked out well for me since then. Thanks for that.

I am sorry to hear that you failed some of your subjects, I have been in the same situation in the past. My reaction depends on the subject I am taking. If it is subject that I really like and a subject that I am really interested in I prefer to continue. I will try to figure out what went wrong and try to figure out what I could do to get a better result next time. If I failed the subject, because it was too hard for me or because I wasn't really interested in the subject, I would consider taking a different subject instead.

I would have stuck with the class and had tried my best to get a higher grade. I would have gotten tutoring and had asked if there was anyway possible to do extra credit in order to pass. I would have asked a classmate if we could have studied together in order to succeed. If you really hated your major then I would change my course of study. I would not have allowed one failing grade change my mind.

Having a failing grade is not the end of the world,I myself had 3 failing grades in college. It's very painful at first because you work hard in that certain subject but at the end you professor will be going to fail you. I think it's just normal and it is part of life. It's not the end of the world either and transferring to other course doesn't sound a good decision. There are a lot of reasons why I say this, first is it's very risky to shift to another major. There are some subjects that will not be credited form your previous course.Second, It's not the first course that you want. Just try to stick to what you really want to be on the future. You are not alone, there are probably hundreds of you who failed but only a few who will stand up and continue to face the fight. One things is for sure you can't be successful in the future if you don't like what you are doing. Good luck and be brave!

In my opinion, I think shifting to another course was a good idea. My mother said that my previous major wasn't my forte. I tried a course that actually suited me and things have been better since then. Thanks for that, though.

Evey one makes mistakes no one is perfect in this world. We do feel bad when we are getting falling grades.we don't like to study any more we feel bad to the teacher as well as to our mates. But we should never think this will happen next time always focus more time to study and bring colourful result at the end.

Failures are the pillars of success. People success when they work hard. When i fail in subjects in school, i use to work really hard. And i feel good 'cause you get to learn lot when you fail. You feel like working hard. I don't feel low when i fail. Instead i get motivated to do any thing.

Failing is bad. These days your report speaks for yourself. No matter how much you really help other people no matter how godd a heart you have, at the end of the day, people will always judge you for the marks you get in exams. Having said that failing is of two kinds. One is having trying hard and failing another is not having tried at all. We need to decide in which category we fall. But whatever the category is, let's not forget that failures are the pillar of success. A fall can be a bad one but a rise after a fall is the sweetest feeling. Let's not make a habit of falling everytime but make a habit of rising everytime.
