In the following article I really do not understand what rights the thousands of illegal immigrants have in the USA? I am not being a smart alec or facetious I really would appreciate someone educate me on the rights of illegal immigrants?
Ariz. Judge Raises the Realities of Porous Border
The judge who will decide whether Arizona's new immigration law is constitutional hasn't indicated whether she'll put the statute on hold before it takes effect next week and had some pointed questions Thursday for challengers at two court hearings.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton also went beyond dry legal analysis to point out some of the everyday realities of illegal immigration and how that applies to the new law.
Without prodding from attorneys, the judge noted that the federal government erected signs in a wilderness area south of Phoenix that warn visitors about immigrant and drug smugglers passing through public lands. She said the stash houses where smugglers hide immigrants from Mexico before bringing them into the country's interior have become a fixture on the news in Arizona.
"You can barely go a day without a location being found in Phoenix where there are numerous people being harbored," said Bolton, who didn't issue a ruling after the two hearings
Opponents say the law will lead to racial profiling and trample on the rights of the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in Arizona. Supporters say the law is a necessary response to combat the litany of problems brought on by illegal immigration and the federal government's inability to secure the border.
Attorney John Bouma, who is defending the law on behalf of Gov. Jan Brewer, said the federal government wants to keep its authority while turning a blind eye to illegal immigrants.
"You can't catch them if you don't know about them. They don't want to know about them," he said.

Quite personally I don't want illegals here in America. They are trouble and if they want to be a part of our country do it the right way. I am not sure that works but if I were so interested in leaving their home land, than I believe I'd find out.
It's US, who allow them to come here and make our lives hell.
If they deserve to be an American, do it right.......
I do have to laugh at our inability to secure our borders.....who's fault is that???
I'd just as soon illegals stayed away from the US.
I do realize we all are immigrants to some extent, but we did it right and applied for it or our ancestors were here many lite years ago :) back before rocket ships and inside plumbing !
I for one, say thumbs down for illegals.

Illegal immigrants have NO rights because what they are doing is ILLEGAL and CRIMINAL. We do not accede to criminality, but sanction it with punishment. Would we give rights to bank robbers to rob banks? Not hardly. Would you give criminals who break and enter into your house "rights" to your food, clothing, shelter, medical care?; I don't think so.
The major problem right now is that Americans have given "rights" and power to an illegal alien named Barack Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, aka Steve Dunham, etc. He wants illegals here to vote for his dictatorship. He has laid out the welcome mat. There was even a youtube video of Bill Richardson of NM speaking to a group of illegal aliens and saying O "is one of us". It has been removed.
Add to the usurper, the creeps, morons, and criminal minions who serve him, Holder, Geithner, Napolitano (who as former AZ governor said "we do not have an illegal alien problem"), all of whom are corrupt to the core and will be only too happy to foment his dictatorship and deliver the coup de grace to what was once America.
The only way out is to remove the usurper and his cohorts go with him. They are all illegal because they were appointed by an illegal president.

That's the ACLU for ya. It seems that they've conveniently overlooked the "illegal" part of illegal immigrant. These people have no "rights" that I know of.

Thank you that is the kind of straightforward answer I was hoping for. I have tried to find within the legalese regarding the Arizona law where it gives an example of foreign criminals having civil rights within the USA.

I don't get it. What rights? They are criminals in the States illegally.

That is exactly what I do not understand. IMO they have no rights except the right to go back to where they came from.

They are not citizens of this country...so they don't have rights. The constitution and bill of rights only applies to American citizens. So therefore they don't have any rights to violate.
This whole law suit is BS. It is not much different the federal law...except that Arizona will actually enforce it...while the feds don't and won't.
There big arguement is if AZ enforces the laws it will catch sooo many illegals it will overload the feds with people to deport...oh my AZ will actually make the feds enforce their laws and do their jobs...the horror of it all...how could they be so mean as to make the feds do their job. Shame on Arizona..LOL. Don't you know the feds HATE to work?

Hi whiteweather, there is contradiction in the terminologies used. But perhaps rights refer to basic human rights. Even illegal expatriates, I think, are given that fundamental right.

It is not a basic human rigt to allowed to live in this country illegally...or live in this country at all if they are not a citizen.
So there is nothing against "human rights" about rounding them up and deporting them.
I agree we need to treat them nicely....as we are kicking them out of the country.

Guys, I was trying to analyze the "racial profiling and the trampling of rights" sentence up there. I do know that illegal entries are prohibited by law. Our problem here, too.

Hi spalladino, I am not contesting your theory there. You have very sound bases for the arguments. I was just pointing out that even illegal aliens must be accorded human rights. That is probably why the statement was penned. Your government, I believe, was taking the necessary precaution in handling the matter. More than that, I cannot offer any other reason for the discussion starter's plea.

I have always understood that the laws of the land apply to everyone, illegal or not. Immigrants here without our permission are breaking the law. I'm not clear whether they have a right to a free public defender as citizens do but you bet they'll get them. I don't know about the legality of it but as far as I'm concerned the Constitution refers to THIS country and its citizens, not people from other countries who violate our laws by sneaking past our borders.
I think we should adopt Mexico's immigration policy. Surely they could not object to that without having to change their own rules? Of course, we would be more humane, we would not rape or kill or imprison but merely deport.
Nothing will work until we put up a barrier. Perhaps we could put the illegal immigrants that we arrest to work building the fence. They'd get shelter, meals, medical care, etc.--a helluva lot better treatment than they apparently get in Mexico! And we'd be on our way to solving our border problem.

If the law of the land apply to everyone then IMO that means that anyone who breaks our laws by illegally entering our country are criminals and should immediately be deported back to where ever they came from by the cheapest form of transportation. That would cost our country a hell of a lot less that what they are stealing from us in undeserved benefits and jobs.
Mexico's immigration policy is a lot stricter than ours and they enforce it...we should take a lesson from them.
Your suggestion of putting the criminals currently incarcerated to work building a fence is a BRILLIANT idea. Much better that our tax dollars putting a roof over their heads, a bed to sleep in and food in their bellies. Many of our poverty stricken citizens do not ever have these comforts!!

I want to say that some people truly feel that the best ideals of America--truth, justice, the "dream"--should be granted to the entire world, especially for folks making the trek over here or that we apprehend, and that we're greedy, hatemongering bigots for "denying" anyone that (denying = simply not gifting it).
And while that may very well be true for some sentimental folks in our country, I happen to think it's just more political posturing and placating a hopeful voting bloc when it comes to the mainstream players - activists: judges, politicians, loud-mouth advocates, etc.
I also happen to think that neither the policial players or the bleeding hearts really have to deal with the problems.
A candle light vigil will be held for a mass murderer before his execution... but you can bet that victims of the crime will not be attending.
And it might be simiplistic, but that's the entire case to me.
It's a good thing to have that we-are-the-world stance. It can help a wannabe big political player get some support and it helps the guilty among us to feel better about themselves. But that only exists as long as they stay safe in their bubbles.
Politics creates multiple versions of reality. I think they all must collide and explode before we ever see real change in America -- like simply upholding border enforcement laws for the good of our citizens.
This bleeding heart sht has never, ever made the world a better place. And I don't care who says it has. All it's done is allow people considered "victims" to run rampant while those allowing it get the Chris Matthews thrill in their soul and really feel as if they're making a difference..
Yeah. They're making a difference. Just ask the American citizens suffering due to illegals receiving the star treatment.
