How to get traffic to site

I started a blog on wordpress yesterday. Is there anyone here that is fimilar with that site and if so how do you get traffic to your site? I will be visitng other people's blog and leaving comments. Hopefully they will return the favour. I also tweeted about my blog and gave out the link. I do not have a facebook account yet, but hope to be getting one really soon so that I can place my info on that site as well.

well quality content is key
but you can use traffic exchanges and such.

Is a service where you surf pages of other users, earn credits that you apply to your own web page for other users to see it. Understand?

Add your site to blog catalog and make friends there. Your traffic will slowly increase.

There are many ways of getting free traffic to a blog or website but the only problem is you have to devote some time doing little work....you can visit other peoples blog and comment there..as you already know.. you can share your friends blog roll links and exchange traffic with theirs placing your friends site link with your blog and your blog link is placed in theirs , you can write articles on many things and use your blog address in the resource box if the reader is interested he will visit the site..you can surf at the free to join traffic exchanges which can bring 1000 visits to your site daily....visit freetrafficforever.blogspot.com where you can find the best traffic sites which really give results..but there are many other ways too to promote your blog or site I just said the easy ones...

Have you submitted your blog to different directories? That usually helps, since it makes your blog more visible in the search engines. You should also ping your blog every time you post a new post in your blog. There are several pinging services you can use.
The easiest way to find both directories and pinging services are to look for those terms in a search engine. Good luck!
