Out of Control Child

Anyone else out there have a child that they find very difficult to keep control of? I have a school aged daughter that is the most defiant child i think I have ever met. I am at my wits end with it and don't know what else to try or do! I have tried everything but even the smallest tasks asked of her (i.e. pick up your toys) turns into an all out war! I need help!!

This is very much the same way that it is with my daughter. She is seven years old now and she thinks that the world revolves around her. I like to try to get her to help us keep the house straightened up and she claims thatshe is like Cinderella and is expected to do everything in the house and that no one else ever does anything. I'm in the process now of trying to be extremely firm with her in hopes that it will make a difference.
