What do you think about rockers / metalheads ?

I dont know why, but mostly people have a bad impression about metalheads.
I think this a wrong opinion, they are peaceful, they are not stupid people, mostly are intelligent.
Each with its tastes.
It is not fair to judge a person by its appearance, the music he likes!
Are you doing the same?

I was a goth/metaller when I was a teenager and people can be really judgemental and rude. I’m always careful to be polite as manners are important to me, but some people take one look at you and either refuse to talk to you or call you a freak or worse.
It’s terrible because the worst behaviour I’ve seen is from people who dress fashionably or “normally”.
I’ve never seen a metaller starting problems and have even seen biker gang members helping old ladies carry their shopping across the road.
It’s always the same, people need to stop judging books by their covers.

I totally agree with you here! I think it also depends on where you are in the world. Coming from a small, ignorant town..It was pretty bold of use to dress grungey and skate on the streets..Many times people would drive past and shout " GOTH " and stuff like that, lol. Id imagine people are more tolerant of people like that in big cities...As you see all types of people in that kind of environment.

Yes, it doesnt matter if you`re a goth or not, it doesnt matter what you wear, what you listen. You are still a human being, having emotions, we are no diffenrent than other people. Probably we got more education, respect for others and self esteem.

I think those who love rock music are people who show deep in thought, in understanding a world absurd, unfair and immoral that we live. For a rocker, the music will always be a call to awakening, he was always searching for a way to demonstrate that there are only actors in a drama, overwhelmed by the spirit of the sheep flock if we try to overcome mechanism of dogmas which we press. People who prefer to rock are disappointed by reality, the pressures of society and try to live life fully by escape from everyday life with music.

I think they are people like anyone else, no better and no worse. I get to know people before I make any form of judgement regarding their personality and intelligence, and that goes for rockers too!

My son is a guitar playing metalhead. He is also a born again Christian. He "sings" Christian metal. I am older (look at my profile) and simply can't understand a word he's saying but at least he's not cussing. Metal is just another forum of music. I'm sure when I was a teenager my parents thought disco music was really bad.
