Now it's time for all us ladies to get mad as heck.

Boy these politicans really know how to stick their foot in their mouths. Ken Buck is running against Jane Norton in a primary race for the Senate. Both are republicans running to see who will get the seat. Well at a rally Buck told voters they should vote for him because "I don't wear high heels". Boy it looks like the primary in Colorado race is getting ugly. He has come out and said he was only joking...but what do you think? Should we be offended? Or laugh it off? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1IUhwCYiXs I know what is worse...that he answered the question that way...or that the crowd actually laughed and clapped. Tell me what you think? Why can't they just stick to the issues? A candidates gender is NOT an issue.

lil- thank you for bringing this up. This is my race. I WAS a supporter of Buck until last week. He is our DA here, I work for his wife, and have served on political boards with his wife. Turns out, I would vote for her in a heart beat, but I think Buck just lost my vote. There was a debate on local tv Friday night and I am seriously leaning toward Norton. There are things there that make me nervous too. Buck made some comments at a debate in Peublo last week that were pretty disturbing regarding illegal immigrants. Up until now, he has been very adamant about cleaning up our streets, working diligently with our Sheriff, supporting ICE raids, heck we just got a shiny new ICE office. Now Buck says to pass out Visas. WTF?

Seems he does not even know what he stands for. Makes it hard to vote for someone when you have NO IDEA what he will do when gets into office.

It is the candidates that are the issue. Immature comments like this tick people off, it had nothing to do with the issues. We really need higher standards in our elected officials. These people are acting like immature kids.

This should be taken in context. She attacked him first. It makes me mad when the media won't report fairly. I live in this state and you can bet that I will vote for Ken Buck and not Jane Norton because she tends to play dirty and we've had enough of that lately, all over the nation. I do wear high heels, by the way.

Yeah I found out she called him out on being "man enough" for the job. But personally the fact that he stooped to her level and made that comment back would be enough for me not to vote him either. The comment was sexist, childish and uncalled for.By both of them. He should have shown his class and stayed above those kind of comments. I guess I would be looking for different candidates to vote for. Because those two are not mature enough for the job.

I can understand why you would not vote for either of them, but what are our options? There are precious few politicians who are mature or intelligent, and neither of them are in our state.

Have you looked into third party candidates in your state?

Based on the comment alone, I would say he needs to try on a pair. Ha ha. I won't term it as sexist though. Maybe a little bit on the line. I think I will laugh it off and probably file it under the "stupid things politicians say when they are campaigning" list.

I definately was stupid. And sexist...you are right..he needs to try on a pair...they are not that easy to walk in. It takes talent. From what I am gathering both are playing the gender card.
