Original Question Title: xxx xxx xxxxx xxxx xxx?
Thank you for using myLot![/i]
Have you ever noticed that these things come in bunches? I just got four of them all in a row. Is 11 - 12 Pacific time the witching hour? That's the time allotted on the deletion monitor's calendar to check the reports for the day and start deciding what to delete? Or maybe they're just on it early today so that they can get out for the weekend?
Ever wonder what the inner workings of a website are? Who's behind the screen? What their process is?
Have you been deleted today?

Well, I have been very busy in the last 90 minutes or so...
Our mail queue does get backed up every once in a while though so I'd guess that could be a contributing factor.

Wasn't it Alice that prompted you to start this
and not the other way round?

Hi, Dawn!
Yes. I've had two responses deleted today, and neither questions nor responses were in any way questionable in terms of taste or the rules. I wonder if there is a Wizard of Oz at work here???

Too much effort, which I'd be willing to bet is what they count on!

Yes I have been deleted again today but, as usual, I was expecting it and it was only a question of time.
I notice too that there are two times when they come - one is now, like you are noticing and the other is esrly afternoon my time which is around early morning on myLot. Then there might be sporadic ones through my night too.
What I also notice is that at the same time that the notifications arrive, everything else grinds to a halt. People stop posting

There are certain ones that I definitely expect. It's just funny that they all came at once. I hadn't noticed that posting slows down around the same time though.

hi dawnald I just got one for a change and it was one I expected as I had answered the newbie that she should read the guidelines, the rules, the questions and answers before making discussions as she had as they usually do broken the rules about questions that are already answered in mylot's questions and answers, Her comment startled me, she actually thanked me for telling her that. wow. Yes i have always wondered who is behind the screen deleting like crazy. what I do not understand is why people keep on making polling type discussions as they get deleted almost as fast as they post them.

Hi dawn, I too have been deleted today, and they other day I had like 6 mylot notification. But it's okay coz I like here in mylot and maybe for the deletion thing is based of how many reports the admin recieve for each day and also the time zone.

I've had 4 or 5 within the last hour, so I guess they really do look over the stuff that's been reported at a set time or something.

I've had like two of my discussions deleted because they were labeled as "poll"-like questions... but I've never had my responses/comments deleted. I really would like to know how they calculate the "participation" rates, too... because sometimes I really don't make much... but sometimes I do... and I want to know (I guess) which activity do we get compensated for more?? Commenting?? Starting discussions?? Ratings?? Uploading pictures?? I will receive my first payout next month and I need to know how to be getting them quicker lol.

Comment to further the topic too.
That's what makes a discussion and that's what myLot want

I'm going to guess that it's the number of words you post, rather than whether you do your own discussions or respond. But pictures? No clue, I don't do many pictures. And ratings, well I know your rating affects your earnings.
How to get payout quicker? Post more words. Also see if you can refer people. If you can get one or two active referrals, that really helps.

"Comment to further the topic" which means all that 'fun' banter may not be paid. Are you sure on this? I would love to be a part of the 'fun' banter but I get this gut feeling that such comments may not attract payment. Just a hunch really.

Surely they are manned by humans who read, decide, delete and send the notifications at almost the same time everyday. It cannt be run by robots. I have one response deleted today. I am using my cellphone to mylot which sometimes send out double responses.

I can tell you!
Two reasons:
1. It's a poll/survey and there's really nothing to discuss.
2. What did you have for breakfast, lunch, supper, a snack, yesterday's breakfast, tonight's dinner, etc. is posted very frequently. So frequently, in fact, that I delete "what did you eat" polls daily.

The day before yesterday one, yesterday one and today another. I have been very regularly receiving the mylot notification.
Now I am typing these words with trembling fingers lest tomorrow morning I get a notification from my lot stating This is a notification from myLot. Your answer has been deleted because the question it was under was deleted. Original Question Title: The witching hour...
Damn it. The ones of mine that got deleted were not like that should have been deleted. But who knows the witching hours really play tricks!!!

I'm going to guess that since I have been blessed by a visit from Alice, that this one won't be getting deleted.
Hopefully that isn't "famous last words"...

Don't count my visit as a blessing.
Seriously though, I see no reason for this discussion to be deleted.

Is that when the deletion gremlins come out and play? I've always wondered how these myLot elves did their thang . . . and how that algorithmajig worked. There must be this whole secret world behind myLot . . . hmmmm, I wonder if any of "them" are among us?!

I think its where mylot is based at and its the time they choose to do it all on. Had one answer deleted today because of the discussion it was under. I am trying to figure out on what grounds the topic would have deserved deletion someone was trying to find out if something was a scam and they did not have any links just a question. Only thing I have came up with is that people might have asked that.

Yeah could be a duplicate discussion. The poster would have an e-mail with the reason.

Hi, dawnald. I got about two of these this week and I was not too happy about it either. I don't know how or who is making these decisions about which discussion response was deleted. All I know is that I am not too proud of my response being deleted. The discussion was not a bad discussion at all. It did not seem like the type of discussion that would break any rules on myLot. I don't know why the discussion got my response deleted. This is something new to me. I think that if certain discussions will cause a person's response to get deleted, then myLot, should not have this discussion posted on their website. These are just my thoughts...

Hey dawny! Yup, you're right about that! They do sorta seem to
come in bunches, although sometimes just in pairs. And sometimes
I just don't have a clue why certain ones were deleted at all.
One of mine with over 200 responses, my discussion on my one
year being clean and sober was deleted after a year to my shock!
So, can anyone beat that one?

I received a notification today, I had a response deleted; I’m not too sure why the discussion was deleted, I suspect it may have been a duplicate topic or something; anyway I had no idea when I responded that this one would be deleted. There have been times when I have known the whole post would go but thought it worthwhile to join the discussion at the time. I’m in Australia and I haven’t noticed any particular time these notifications arrive, I might just take note out of curiosity. I often imagine what MyLot admin looks like and I try to envision the staff who works there and I am sure that it is nothing like I see it in reality!

Nothing original, just an open office plan with little cubbies with desks in there and admin staff in each little office space in front of a PC, you know your typical office scene. I see a big MyLot logo on the wall next to a clock that also has a MyLot logo in the middle of it. The staff are wearing white t shirts with...You guessed it...The MyLot logo on it! (LOL) Not very exciting, I'm afraid...
