Everywhere I post a discussion, article or anything related to money, I noticed there is always a response.
Money is really a hot issue esp these days. DO you think so? Why?
Has money overruled the community now?

Let's face it. The primary reason people are in MyLot is for the money. And people need more money because of all the things we need to buy to survive. Money may not be able to buy everything but it certainly buys us a lot of things that we need on life to be happy.

i would say it is because everyone is starting to realize that they need a bigger piece of the pie these days, what i mean is that in society the days of retiring from a great company with your good pension and gold watch are over, so for a person like myself in his early 20's it is very inportant to try and get ahead at a young age so that i can prepare to be my own retirement plan because with the world were it is today you just never know.

I think money is indeed a hot issue, especially when it is not used to benefit the many. But it will never overrule a community in my opinion.
Money is a hot item because everyone is after it, they wanted to have it for some for their own good, others for their benefit and for others consumption as well and for most of us because we don't have a choice but to badly need it so we can survive.
I think one important lesson we need to learn in dealing with MONEY is that, We should not only work for money, but also we must take into consideration and let MONEY WORK for us instead and that will only be attained when we work smarter and not only work harder. :)

In the United States we are in a recession (although I think it is a depression) and many of us need money just to make ends meet. I am out of work and my husband is only working parttime. He keeps asking for more hours, but his boss will not give it to him. His boss claims there is no money in the budget, but he has hired two new people fulltime. I am trying to make money so I can help my husband with the finances. I do a lot of crafts and am thinking about selling them online. I am also looking for work both online and offline. I am hoping things will get better for my husband and I soon.

Hi,
Nowadays all the prices are rising and the money earned by you is always less. Hence all are looking for ways and means to make ends meet and to give just a little bit extra to their loved ones. Hence everybody is interested to check how they can make just that 1 extra dollar or rupee...

yes, money can make people crazy. it can also ruin relationships such as wills where family members get nothing while others get included in the will. some never speak to one another again. also some consider the idea of prenuptial agreements is an insult when their engaged and plan to marry whoever brings up the idea. also at the worst money can cause murders. since poverty can be a precursor to violence financial prosperity can dramatically lower the event of such events. also when people are struggling financially just to seeing how they handle it can be the indicator of someones true colors. You could possibly be thinking to yourself "Wow, i never realized this person was that big of an a%#hole."

It is true. Money do sparks conversation. But it is not necessarily overruled the community, it is just the fact that man has become so complex that for him to enjoy the pleasures of life he needs money to attain them. We can say that it is not an act of evil if we want money because they are used to further develop one's individuality. What's evil is what we do with it. Money just enhances our personality. If a person is generous then he can become more generous; otherwise, imagine if he is a wicked person given a sudden increase of wealth.

Money is what sustains our daily living. Money is what we need to survive the mundane and daily economic living of every family. All people will do their best to earn as much as they could to make their lives wealthier in order to support their families. I think it's natural.

Hi hushi!
As a means of exchange as it is, money may well define the kind of a lifestyle you would ever wish for. Money has never been so much sought after. The quest for money continues to overrule anything as it has for thousands of years and will a continue to leave a legacy for the next thousand years.

Well money is usually a hot topic for everyone especially in this rough economy.People like to share ideas on how to make money on the side to help pay bills and other expenses. The aspect of making money on you spare time with little effort is very appealing to alot of people. Some people are retired or living on social assistance and this can really help them when they don't have enough money to pay the rent.I love this site and it helps me get some side income even if it is only 10 bucks a month is some nice pocket change to play with.

Yes, I think you are right. The reason is probably that a lot of people think very much (even waaaayy too much in a lot of cases!) about money, and think it is much more important than it actually is. For me, money itself is not so important, but what it stands for and what it can get me, is.

Of course money is a hot issue. It is a basic necessity of life. It is also the rason most of us are here. At least it is the reason that attracted us in the first place.
