Today i was driving in the evening traffic through one of the busiest neighbourhoods. It was a total nightmare with nobody following the traffic lights. Everybody were seeming to be as if they are driving to catch a plane departing to Heaven. OMG i decided that i never drive through that place again...

Hi Dinesh,
That is a common occurrence in India. Especially in the metros if you get stuck during the peak hours then you can see some really crazy driving by people. I get really angry especially at educated people who would give you a lecture on discipline, but when it comes to driving on the roads they will drive without even a single shred of discipline!!
Cheers!

Yeah, it is very dangerous to drive in a place with no one following traffic rules and regulations. But this is usually the case for most developing countries. Traffic lights are just there for show and pedestrians have to be careful even on zebra crossings.

Wow! That is usually the scenario here in our place and also early mornings. The traffic lights aren't working in late hours and early morning. Those who are new to our place find it real scary to drive around.
Before, we really don't have much traffic lights around. But the drivers could manage. I heard most of the drivers say that it was much better before when the traffic lights are lesser.
A friend of mine who was also foreign to our place but has been here for almost a year said that if you could drive in our place, you can drive anywhere. A real challenge for excellent drivers. LOL! :D
