ARod is one HR away from 600. Do you care?

At one time in his career, he was the best player in the game. He has been on a decline lately but could still easily catch Bonds. It seems like there is no excitement for him chasing #600. How about you, do you care?

Heykb~ You are right about nobody seeming to care! When Bonds was almost there it was a big deal, not for Arod and it's his own fault! Now I am a diehard Yankee fan for all of my life (and that's a long time)! I grew up watching Mantle and Mays and more! And I met Yogi Berra and I don't know how long I squeezed his hand, but I kept telling him "I loved him"!lol Arod is an a-hole! He has made too much out of being a "player" and not being a "baseball player" that people are just sick of him! I know I am!

I have heard that A-Rod is a really ahole. Not sure he really understands what it means to be a Yankee. Not everyone understands what we mean by that but I am sure you do. I am a big Kentucky basketball fan. Billy Gillespie did not understand what it meant to be the coach at UK. Both the Yankees and Kentucky are measuring sticks for their sports. You have to embrace them when you play or coach for them. While I think Arod will pass Bonds, I still agree that Hank Aaron is the HR king

Nope. I don't care. I'm a huge Yankee fan, but as for A-Rod, whatever. I wasn't a big fan of his before the steroid scandal, and it certainly has not endeared him to me. I'm a Derek Jeter fan. It seems no one can find a bad word to say about him.

I have heard that not too many people in New York really like the guy. They like that he is on the team, but don't really care for him. He has not embraced being a Yankee like Jeter and the other greats.

Aside from the fact that I totally despise Barry Bonds and would love to see A-Rod eventually be the all-time home run king just for that reason, to answer your question, "do you care?" in a word, no! Because I really can't stand A-Rod either.

No I don't care. Arod admitted he took steriods when he was in Texas. His home run record is tainted just like Mark McGwire's and Barry Bond's are. I also don't like Arod because he is a New York Yankee. The Yankees,no matter what, get the players they need and want! It isn't fair for some of the other MLB teams! It is not also fair that Arod has the largest salary in the majors and I don't believe any player in any sport is worth that much! I wish baseball was "clean" and had a salery cap!

True. No one, especially an athlete, deserves money like that. He make as much money in one plate apperance, about $50k, that I make in a year of teaching. Whose job is more important? LOL

I think that if you watch Sportscenter there truly is excitement over it. I think that his homerun chase has been overshadowed by his admission of steroid usage. Honestly I hope he achieves this soon because it takes away from the wins and losses of everyday baseball.
