Hi all.
With all the hype around Google and Facebook/twitter competition for online domination, rivalry between Apple and Microsoft for being the biggest enterprise on earth, Indians (this time surprisingly Indian Government) has shown a trailer of another technological marvel - A $35 Tablet!!!
The only thing that made me believe this news was the involvement of IIT people. These IITs are full of ridiculous technical geniuses.
Kapil Sibal, HRD minister, has spoken really highly of this new thing and if it is what it is said to be, it is definitely a BIG thing in small pack and price.
A tablet with touch screen, USB 2.0 support, video conferencing support, Android core and 2 GB ram is bound to be good in even $100 and this one is coming in one third of it.
I hope this "promised to be record shattering release" doesn't get consumed in "so many times" heard excuses of Indian Government and really make it to the people.

...Hi there raj_gupta, Well if this is true and they can get it out there, they could certainly give Microsoft, Apple and all the others a run for their moneuy. Hopefully you don't need a two-hundred dollar application or software that costs more to start it up. Great news, hopefully it will be available in time to the general public. Thanks for sharing with us. Take care.

Yeap. I heard that. It was on our national news (@ in Bulgaria).
I"m really, really surprised how they've made it just 35$ with touchscreen, web cam, USBs and 2GB RAM. In my country just the 2Gigs of RAM costs more than 35$ (unless it is from the cheapes - it will cost around 35$, but you won't know how quality is it and this is importnat). This guy also said that the Video call thing have really high quality. I really want to buy one of these if it is really just 35$. It's cheaper than almost every kind of phones and portable players and such things. I wonder how many GBs of hard disk space this thing has.
I'm even more surprised, that it comes from India :o I mean they aren't famous with some kind of tech stuff. I haven't heard of indian brand for computers or mobile phones or something like that. Lol this device will be more powerfull than my older computer. I just wonder if it will be able somehow to install windows xp or windows seven on that thing. It seems to be really useful with the Windows 7 touch screen capbilities. Win 7 has all kind of stuff for touch screen computers - writting recognisation, cool on-screen keyboard and some short-cuts. Awesome!
Would you buy one of these table pcs?

I'll buy it one or two for each of my family members.
But you'll be disappointed to know that you won't be able to run windows 7 or any other version of windows on this "tablet". Remember it's only a tablet and hence won't be able to replace your PC or laptop.
