If no, why do you not? If yes, how often do you go? Why type of church do you go to? We go to a Disciples of Christ church called Legacy Christian. It is a great church and we go every Sunday, barring illness.

I no longer live near the church I went to...Sunday is our family day & my husband is not a christian although he has told me that he won't stop me if I want to go to church. I guess I just haven't found one where I actually want to go to.

Maybe you will find one that you both might like and one day he will become a Christian, too

I used to go to salvation army as a child and i do think that there is no need to go to church. You can pray at any time aswell as any where, you do not need to go to church to do that as you can do it in your home, after all a church is also a building the same as your home.

I would agree. It is nice to have believers encourage you in your walk with the Lord. The fellowship is something that is impossible to replace.

Very true statement about the church being just a building. You can HAVE church anywhere. I do think that the Christian fellowship of going to that building each Sunday is key to living a Christian life, though.

My dad's a Free Will Baptist pastor. So when I was growing up, rain or shine, me and my family went to church every time the doors were open, including revivals and vacation Bible school. Well, my dad is still a pastor, but I no longer go to church every time it is open. It isn't that I don't want to. It's just that in the past five years, my health has gotten so bad that I never know until the morning of the service, if I'll be attending or not. I miss it when I'm not there. I miss the people, and I've always liked hearing my dad preach. Well, as an adult I do. As a kid I didn't. lol

LOL, isn't it funny how we change our perceptions as we get older? I wish you the best of luck with your health. I remember you mentioning it in another post. I hope you can get to church as much as possible. If not, I hope you find time to worship Him in your own way and let Him know that you still want Him in your life. A church is technically just a brick building. You can find God anywhere.

This is true. I have had to make more of an effort to keep myself spiritually in sync with the Lord, and I feel like my relationship with Him is probably the best it has ever been.

In the past year or so, I have gone to the Church of the Nazarene almost every Sunday. But, it seems like here lately I have gotten disillusioned with the whole church thing again that I'm taken a leave of absence from it. It just seems here for awhile, I have not been very happy in it. I do believe in God and a "higher being", but the whole dogma and the ritual of the service has just been wearing me down. I have actually been getting more out of the Hour of Power than my local church.

Different people need different things. Just remember that we all need Jesus, though, so I hope you find a place that you can feel at home.

We try our best to go every Sunday but find it hard to get up when we've been up all night with our son or if one of us is sick. I think tomorrow will be a great day though so I am looking forward to it. We go because while it makes us feel better, it also prepares us for the week ahead. =)

I have recently started going to a Western Rite Orthodox church again. I rather like it, it was an Anglican church, so it feels very Anglican to me, but I'll get used to the differences.

I used to attend a Baptist church every Sunday. However, I was dependent on getting a lift as I do not drive and the bus service is dreadful on a Sunday morning. This lady can not get me to Church at the moment as she is seriously ill with Cancer. This means that I have only been able to get to church a few times and I am really missing it. However, on the occasions that I have been able to attend I have felt really blessed and at peace. Another thing that I did recently was to go on a week long retreat to Lee Abbey which allowed me to learn more about what I believe and to be with like minded people.
