I am just wondering. To those who are earning from online part time jobs how do you pay your taxes if you are earning from paid-to-click sites, paid-to-post, paid-to-answer, ODesk, Freelancer, etc? Here in the Philippines, people who earns at least the minimum wage in their region will not pay income tax as per this article which I have found that talks about Republic Act 9504 - Tax Exemptions for Minimum Wage Earners and Increased Tax Exemptions.

With what i'm earning online the tax dept will class it as a hobby not an income and hence won't get taxed.

Philippines really has limited laws regarding internet technologies. Taxation is only limited on physical income of the people. Yeah, it would be nice for the concerned government officials to look into this also. Lots of Filipinos are already earning thru internet marketing.

I agree, people are exploiting that loophole as a way to earn money. There will be a surge in online businesses coming from the Philippines since the policy of the Bureau of Internal Revenue wants every business establishment even the small time sari-sari stores and pedicab drivers to issue receipts with every transaction. Many sari-sari stores would close down and could turn to the cyberspace to operate their businesses. My brother and I collect toys; from G.I Joe to Transformers. We browse eBay to look for anything worth buying. We would occasionally buy something there and we always engage in the easiest form of transaction and that is meeting up. So, in other words, we go to the appointed place and time wait for the seller to come and for us to hand down the money and that's it. No receipt and no tax involved.

hey visijay32,not everyone thinks online earning is a gold mine.......!!! in India,we pay taxes for online income too....paypal will allow money withdrawal only if we submit our income-tax transaction number...so any amount you earn will automatically be known by the IT people...any net income over 165000 INR is taxable...it has various stages though.....this prevents from people storing black money in their paypal accounts too...this is another good revenue for the government...As far as i know, most countries put taxes for online income...my friend pays tax in two countries because of complications of money withdrawal in his country.do verify in your country about these taxes if you earn so much here..no one wants to be caught all of a sudden and posed heavy fines...
