Do butterfly colors have meaning?

I'm not interested about butterflies because yesterday I saw a dragonfly with red wings. It is slightly bigger than the common dragonflies that have transparent wings and it flew way faster. I do not remember any dragonfly of that beauty in the past. Sadly I do not possess even a camera. The red color of its wings was brilliant and full. I think it was four wings. About the butterflies connection to omen never heard any of it. I'm probably away from superstitious people.

I have yet to hear that the colors on Butterfly's have a meaning. But Every colors has a meaning behind it and Butterfly's are a symbol of the resurrection. It represents a Christian life butterfly means resurrection. It is also a reminder that God made all things by making two separate creatures out of one. We are one with Christ, though separate in physical being.. So I know have to think that they do have a meaning,I just have never been told what.

I'm also from the same country as yours but I've never heard of the colors of butterfly having meanings, maybe I'm not that knowledgeable enough or I just don't care. And if I may say, black or dark hues is always associated with omens or negativity, such as black cats, crows which are black, black sheep etc. And colorful hues tend to lean on the positive aspects of life, for example try watching a rainbow after the rain, it will surely bring you a great feeling. :) great observation though about butterfly colors.

yes,i think there's a meaning behind those colors,my friend! if you see those black ones,they say someone would die.then sometimes there's also spirits or souls using butterflies to get to their loved ones and do visit them.those colors symbolizes what are their favorite colors.that's what i know.but i'm really not sure of it though.

I think its the evolution, that how they came a variety of colors.
