Do you know anybody like this who never finishes their sentence like they stop right in the middle it's like they forgot or something that they were talking. Well I only know one person like this and that would be my dad he does this all the time my mom gets frustrated with it and tells him to finish his sentence. Also when he talks to me and the he stops in the middle of his sentence and I'm waiting I wait some more and I'm all like dad finish what you were going to say and then he says oh it was nothing. It's so weird, but my dad is my dad. Do you know anybody like this do your friends do it. I think that my dad just might be tired or something or I don't know what it is oh well. I still love him either way because he is my dad.

i have met a couple of people like that. My mom tells me that if I get side tracked or our conversation ends earlier than expected that I remember right where we were and I'll start it back up.

yes, I know somebody, sometimes I do, but how can you help him remember things is that remind him of the lines of his conversation stopped...and he will be able to go back the topic. The person who can't remember what he is talking , is that, he surely refuse to remember it, and plays he is forgetful of what he is saying.

My mom does it all the time. I always have to tell her to finish her thought. Don't know why she does it. I guess it's just a habit with her.

Hi, anime. It's a very interesting thing you brought up. From an optimistc point, its like a skill of talking, at times we dont want to answer the question people mentioned, avoiding the topic while dont offend others would be a first choice. However, similar to your dad, my dad also has the case when he from time to time never finish the sentences, its very annoying. In that case, I can only make a conclusion that is, they are aging and forgetting things easily.

Yes, I have had various conversations with people in the past that had a habit of doing this and I would become so confused as regards what they were trying to say! Why they do it I have no idea! It does give the impression of lack of interest on their part though.
I'm sure this doesn't relate to anything medical, perhaps it's just a habit that needs to be eradicated. Andrew

Your dad is not the worse so don't worry. One thing, even if your mother or you get depressed how much more do you think it is for your dad? It's like your mother assume that everyone's perfect. Unlike women, men do not express fluidly as women do. It's just not right to expect a rabbit to overtake a cheetah so to speak.

Hi, ANIME123. I have been around people that are like this. And I can't stand it. It is annoying when they stop at saying something that I want them to finish. I don't know why your dad does this. I hope that he will start to tell you what he was about to say.

My husband has severe arthritis and when he was adjusting to some new pain medication he did that for a little while. It was frustrating to say the least! What's even more frustrating is his habit of never finishing a song when he's playing his guitar. He's very good and has a great voice so I like hearing them...but he'll stop somewhere in the middle just as I'm really getting into it. He thinks he's so funny when he does that.

hmm never heard a case like this before.
people usually cut themselves in the middle of their conversations because some of them are actually doing it on trance.( a light trance that is)
it is a period where we are just talking unconsciously (just like when we are driving and we just drive and as soon as we get to our destination we cannot even remember what type of vehicles we passed by, how many stop lights, how many stops, how long we had been driving etc, lookup "driving trance".) and all the while when we are driving we also think of something else.
i'ts just like our body is doing something else but our mind thinks of something else.
i'm sorry i cant explain this any better..

No no your right and you explained it perfectly I get what you are saying and I thank you for telling me in the most simple way because I get why my dad does this at times now because it means that his mind is on something else. Which is actually true because he does it when hes driving or doing something else.

Actually, I sometimes do this at work. Sometimes a manager would ask me about something I know nothing about. I would start talking and in my mind I would think, 'oh no! what would I say'. Then I would wing it, and say some random words hoping I would say something related to what they are asking. And then I would stop mid-sentence while all the while trying to sound very knowledgeable. Usually they would finish the sentence for me.

I have one friend and she does the same always. She tells us as if she have lots to tell us but she will be left in between.Sometimes we don't understand what she is telling and makes us to stay in suspense. This is the negative attitude that she had but she never knows and we never tells her, even if we tell her,she does the same again.Hope its her habit.
