Because of facebook, many knows how to farm. Would you like a real farm? The real thing is more exciting...

Hahahaha! I guess you are right that Facebook has given many an idea of what farming is about but do they really get to realise what happens when a storm comes or when there is a drought or other adverse conditions? Sitting at your computer in the comfort of your own home is not like sitting on a tractor ploughing for hours on end out there in a real field surely and having to battle with the heat or the pouring rain?

It's not as exciting as growing cupcakes and raising alien cow. :)

I am not into farmville. But I have a lot of friends who are into it. They said that it does give you a background into farming. But well, I think there is more to it when its a real farm that you are handling. Certainly it would be great to have a real farm. In fact, if I have lots of money, I would surely start up a farm. It would be great to enjoy life and harvest as well as make money along the way. In fact many people when they retire goes into farming. So even when you are old already, farming is not only income generating but also one way to exercise and have fun.

I am not one of those who waste time at Farmville. I'd rather just plant in my own backyard and reap true fruits and vegetables that waste time planting and harvesting for nothing at Facebook. Well to each his own so I have nothing against those who are wasting time at Facebook anyway.

I'd like a real garden maybe, but I don't want a real farm. It's not very well paid and you get quite stuck, you can't travel when you want to if you have animals. You can't travel in the summer if you have corn or grass, but then you probably need a different job in the winter in addition to the farm. And it's a lot of work taking care of houses and barns and other farm buildings. I've got a friend with a real farm, so I'd rather help her than having my own real one and then enjoy my farmville farm for the rest of the time

I am from the big city but when I was 15 years old, I was given the opportunity through the church in a student exchange venture to live on a farm near a small town called Woodstock Mn. There I was exposed first hand to farm life which i must say has many attractive features. At that time the hard work was a welcome change from the chores of the inner city. Also, the freedom to roam in a safe environment was really rewarding. I also loved the fact that whenever I had some time I was allowed to saddle a horse, (with their help of course) and roam the country side. I was asked if I would like to stay on for a year or two and go to school there and try becoming part of their community. After almost three months, I missed the hustle and bustle of the big city and politely refused. The time I spend on a farm was invaluable because it taught me about different lifestyles at a tender age. But i have no regrets about my decision to return.

hi watarikenji real farming is nothing like Facebook. You spent hours planing crops, hours harvesting, times when your produce barely pays all the bills, drought, prairie fires, tornadoes these are not exciting to the farmer who sees his crop die from lack of water. farming is real work, hard work, and I was raised on a farm and I see nothing really exciting in it but a lot of ifs and maybes, and worries and tired bodies. Real life is not facebook style at all.The plus side is fresh air, sunshine, and always having an apptetite at meals, and having the freshest of fresh produce without pesticides and large costs.Less stress from city life but a lot of worry over making it pay its way. I would love to know what is exciting about getting up at sunrise to milk cows, driving a tractor, watching your produce grow or not grow, its hard work, not glamorous work.No I do not w ant a real farm as I am too old for all that now.

A real farm is very hard work. It's long hours each day with no escape. The work must be done each and every day or the whole crop is lost. Be careful what you wish for.

Yes I want a real farm! When I was young we used to have a small farm, about 10 hectares. My father used to plant different types of vegetables there and also watemelons, corn, fruit trees and there were lots of animals like goats, cows turkeys and ducks. I missed that farm so much, my sisters and I used to play there a lot when we were kids. My father already sold that farm, I just wish I could have a chance to buy another one for my family. I guess that's the reason I'm so addicted to farm games on facebook. I really miss the life on farm.
