I just got a new cell and number like a month ago. About to days after i started geting messeges and phone calls for this guy. from family and friends well to say the lest i now know more about him then i would like to. well to day i get a messege from his girlfriends father that said " how are u doing i love uu" i called and asked who it was he says hold on a min and hands the phone to his wife. She says sorry he is still calling the old number and i aske is she dating so and so she says yea why, so i tell her that i keep geting calls for him and his dad was trying to get a hold of him a few weeks ago. she said she knows and well tell him. I'm like i don't know the guy and i alread know more then i should. she laghed and said i should change my number. i just got this one and the calls are just starting to stop. so why would i change my number again? Is it normal to get calls like this on a new number? should't the phone companys wait a wile to give the number out again? I wonder how many other odd phone calls have been made? Have you ever goten any?

Hmmmm....that must be a secret lover. I have been getting calls & messages from a person from Ghana. he says he has 60kgs of gold and 800 million $ which he wants to share with me. He has been asking for my personal details and bank details. He has been calling me at odd times around 2 in the morning and troubling me. I yeslled at me and said will inform the police. Now it has stopped.

I think a few of us can say we have gotten odd calls at one time or another in our life. I used to have a cell phone number that was one number away from a dating line, so I would have a lot of weird people calling at all times of the night wanting to hoopk up to "local singles live". I ended up having to change my number in the end. It may seem like a lot of hassel to change a number, but it really isn't, plus, you can get rid of other people you know now that you don't want calling you!

Hi, ladybugr2d2. Hmmm. That sound very odd.. I did get an phone call yesterday from an odd number. When I answered I got hung up on. When I attempted the call the number back, a woman that spoke in an foreign language just kept on talking. It was really strange. The phone number was a local cell phone number too. I get private calls on my telephone and I never answer them. When I do, someone will just hang up on me. This happens every other month or so. I want to have the feature on my phone where people can't block out their number when they call me. When they call, they will have to give out and use their number so that I can see who is calling my home. I don't like unknown and private calls. It makes it seem like someone is trying to hide something by calling me this way.

I know the only reson i ancer them is bc one of my friends uses a blocked number wich is his friend's phone. but aculy like 6 months ago my ex's friends were calling my old number with a blocked number to be jerks. that was part of me wanting a new number and the other part is that were in the middel of changeing cell phones. still deciding. lol any way i would look in to the call blocker with the phone company thou. good luck.

Hahaha. I have never gotten any, thankfully. And I don't think phone companies here in our country reuse phone numbers. I mean, they have no way of telling whether the number is still active or not, unless it's a post paid, but since majority of the phone users here use prepaid kits, then I don't think they would really even spend time monitoring on the number usage so that they could reuse numbers in the future.

When we were not careful and if we get call from unknown number and we should be really careful about it as we have very difficult time to identify it. Some may try for lucky number or some will cheek our mind by knowingly.I haven't got such even number .

I have this problem constantly. My cell phone number is one digit away from the local dominoes pizza place so i get phone calls ordering pizza all the time. The first couple times it happened i was seriously confused but then i sort of figured it out when some one called for a pizza -drunk- and said something that clued me in. Well nobody has ever texted me i love u to the pizza place ,i do understand your frusteration

That is kinda funny thou. I would find that funny. I think i would rather that then being yelled at for having my number and not being some guy. I would start picking up my phone and say todays speachels are icecream pizza and toenail clipings or something like that just to be a blank and get a good kik out of it. I'm sorry that would be agravating. I would try and make a joke out of it thou.

It has happened to me a lot of times. It happened with our old home phone number. There were a lot of people calling us and asking about the same woman. I kept on telling them that they are dialing the wrong number because no one with that name lives in our house. We had the number disconnected.
Now, there's this person who keeps on texting my cell number. Based from the messages he is sending he is working in another country. The last text he sent was that he said he's going to send a package and then would be sending a money as well via Western Union. I did not bother calling the person or responding to his messages because his number is an International number. The messages just stopped and I have not received any messages from him for more than 2 or 3 months now I think. At first I thought of having my service disconnected but unfortunately I have a two year contract with my cellphone company which will end September of next year. Whether I like it or not I'm stuck with this number.

I have worked for a Telecommunications company in US as a call center agent or customer service representative and the numbers that you have are also being used if the account has already been canceled. lots of customers would have their numbers be changed because they keep on receiving harassing calls. so sad but it has a $15 mobile number change processing fee plus taxes. It's better to get your number changed so you won't be receiving those kind of calls again.

Generally the telecommunication company usually gives the same number used by other people to the new user. If the old user fails to pay the bill or disconnects the number, they then give it to the new user. Instead of you changing the number I think it would be better if you install a voice mail that would remind the caller that they are dialing and reaching to you instead of the old customer. If not then I think its better you change the number.
