what draws you to this site? i love reading good discussions. i am always on the hunt to read some good topics and check out good and nice replies. this what keeps me motivated to stay active on this site. cause there are lot of intelligent people around here that makes the discussions here interesting. i know the hard work that the members have put in their replies and specially on their topics. i love looking for good topics or discussions here. and when i have some good and very interesting discussions i make sure i bookmarked it so that i can go back to it from time to time so i can still get to remember the responses i have read.
before when i was new on this site. i was more concerned actually to have more posts done in a day. the more post i do the better so that i can well. and i am not really interested to read and check out difficult discussions in which i will need to read the discussions pretty closely and pretty well just to get a grasp of what the topic was about for me to be able to make reply on that discussions. i just wanted then simple discussions where i can easily understand what the discussions about by the topic itself.
but now i enjoy more discussions that has very interested read that makes me want to read the long discussions. the longer sometimes the discussions, the more i enjoy it.

I normally engage in direct intelligence but that would not be a fair statement. There are times when a discussion appears to be completely silly then as I get involved I realized I have assisted someone.
It is difficult to distinguish whether a discussion is silly and or intelligent just by briefly reading the intro so there have been many times when I have at first made a quick brief in my mind that it would be silly then after reading some of the responded, found that the discussion became interesting.
If I can assist a newbie myLotter than I feel like my efforts were well worth it, after all I was a newbie once too.

i think if it is silly or not the important thing is you got interested to reply to that discussions. i do like to reply to any discussion as long as it is interesting enough . the problem is lately i only get interested to intelligent discussions and i feel like dozing to sleep when i engage on not so intelligent discussions.

Hi hotsummer
It is something similar with me, sometimes i spend more time reading interesting discussions rather than posting. There are many interesting discussions and plenty to learn from with other's posts, plenty to know about different people and their reaction to certain events and interesting to listen what they have to say and what they understand out of it. If i have some interesting points myself, i like to take part too. But that happens less often..

As the addiction of mylotting become stronger coupled with our extended tenancy here, naturally we look forward to more interesting topics with more weight in them. There is no more the old habit of looking for shorter posts to get the maximum discussions we can go for in a day. It is more on the quality than the quantity that makes our stay here interesting.

yeah i think that it is tiring to keep doing same things so we really need to exert an effort to make our activities and our discussions more interesting so we won't get tired of the same things.and we need to feed our mind also and we need something to make us engage on some intelligent discussions that could excite our minds and make it more active and tap its creative side. and not just post on some ordinary topics or similar topics every time which makes our activities pretty boring here.

Well a lot of the topics do get very repetitive, but there are enough interesting ones most days to keep me around. But it's mainly the interaction with the people that keeps it interesting, even on some of the silliest discussions.

I make it a point not to engage in any debate with other mylotters. It's just I'd rather give advice or help someone clarify answers to issues that are vague to them than state a lot of facts and theories for the sake of discussion. I really appreciate those who really take time to think about their reactions first before blurting them out. I hate people who put others down and i'm fond of people who build each other up. But in discussions that require thinking and weighing over of circumstances I enjoy most of the topics that i've read here.

yeah it does seem some people want to engage in debate. but sometimes i enjoy those debates not because i want seeing members having problem here, but only when their debate turn into some intelligent exchange of information and ideas and they have well expressed their side. that makes me want to read on with their discussion. but i don't engage if the discussion seems getting hot, i just read them though. but i still wish they continue though so as i can read more.

i am just actually a current user and co responder here in my lot. I was encouraged by my auntie to join this site. I love writing and getting involved with interesting discussions and sensible topics. I am also a talkative person in the human world, but not an annoying one, I'm sure of that. These are the reasons why i decide to join with you guys, because with the use of mylot, my writing skills will be enhanced, also my thinking and conceptualizing of my ideas. And during that, I was also able l to communicate and learn from the thoughts and experiences of others.
I join discussions that is interesting for me and is still an the scoped of my capability of thinking, if I know that I can share many ideas in that particular topic, I respond and comment to it. I don't join very complex discussions for my age.

It all depends on the discussion.
I do prefer ones that are "well written" to ones that look like a 2nd grader started the discussion.
But, length is not a good indicator for me. I have responded to short discussions and long ones.
It is the subject matter that is most important to me. Can I add something to the discussion. Maybe my answer will help some one who is looking for help; bring up a fact/issue that has not yet been discussed; or just insert an opposing point of view (devil's advocate) to get more discussion going.
But, it has to be a topic I know something about and am interested in or I don't even bother reading the discussion.

I like to answer discussions in which I actually have something to say...I like discussions, not question and answers... and I mean if you ask me a question in your answer, and I answer please come back and respond..lol
I love longer discussions, That is what this site is supposed to be about, not just asking a question and getting an answer.. =)

I get a prompt that my friends have started a discussion and if the topic is interesting I check it out. Most of the times the stopic can be misleading in that it may very well be a good post but the topic is not saying all that much. Therefore I read all I see and respond to those that I am knowledgeable about.
sometimes there are some posts that I have no idea what they are talking about and these I leave alone. Otherwise I respond to as many as I can giving my honest and heartfelt thoughts on them.

What draws me? THE MONEY! THE CHALLENGE! AND the boredom of me--Joke! No, I just like seeing how people think. I like to meet new personalities despite I don't see their faces and such. The money is merely a plus to my comments and discussions I start. Anyway, none of my discussions seems to be very intelligent so far...aside for asking sites that I may be able to earn money with. Still since because I like reading, I still visit here from time to time.

I am here to have fun and make some money, so I always go for the easiest to respond first, then go to the more serious ones. Sometimes I read intelligent discussions but I am afraid I am not good at the subject, so I'd better not to do anything with them, though I still read them and discuss them with my offline friends in Bali.
Since, I am not deep apparently, so I will post a discussion within my limit of intelligent, of course.

I would love to go for a good and intelligent discussion here in myLot. i also love reading first all the responses to have some ideas on what i am going to post! but sometimes i just go ahead and write my comments after reading the topic. The responses really makes sense and this site would also be a great source of information for some researchers for their assignments, projects and research papers. It also creates awareness because some topics are really happening to the members' lives. as they share these insights, we tend to learn from them.
I just kind of notice that when i posted a topic for discussion, in a few hours there would be like same subject matter from what i have posted. it's either the same thought or just the word itself but has rephrased the sentence to create another thought. but it's perfectly fine with me. as long as i am active and will never run out of things to say, i shouldn't be bothered.
