The Houston Rockets stayed out of the free agent whrlwinbd except for the needed pick up of Journeyman center Brad Miller. However sports critic Jeff Walker is preposing a great trade.
The trade he preposes is Chris Paul and Emeker Okifor a houstionian for Kyle Lowry, Trevor Ariza, Jerrod Jeffries, and Jordan Hill.
This trade could put the Rockets over the top. A key for the Rockets would be the addition of Okitofor, a big man with experience at center and forward. Also Okitfor is a houstonion and could help bring some tickets.
Lowry is a good player but may be overprised and Brooks would fit well behind all star Chris Paul. New Orleans can afford to let Paul go with the ascension of Darren Collison.
A new lineup after this trade would Paul and Kelvin Martin at guards, Battier and Scoila at forwards and of course Yao Ming at center.
The backups would be greatly enhanced. Brooks would return to back up at the point , with Jermaine Taylor the shooting guard backup and Chase Buddinger and Emecika Okikfor at forwards. Brad Miller would take backup center.
This would leave David Anderson, Chuck Hayes and rookie Patterson as the quality backups.
Pressure points could what would happen if a third point guard is needed in a pitch but Jermaine Taylor may be able to fill in in an emergency.

this would be a great trade, if new orleans would accept it and also if houston would agree to pay the astronomical salary of an all-star such as chris paul as well as keep the much improved aaron brooks happy at being a back-up. i for one thought that the combination of brooks and lowry at point guard was one of the strengths of the rockets last season. what the rockets need most is a back-up bigman and this i think hs been solved with the addition of brad miller. all we have to hope for is that we tay away from injuries through the season especially to the pivotal players such as yao ming, brooks and martin, and hope that the new players are well adjusted to coach adelmans game plan. man for man, i think the rockets are one of the better teams in the nba.

Ther could be some potential problems with Lowlry making 8 million and Brooks making 2 million also Okefor is another strong big man that could assist. The key is would Chris Paul and his high salary be good for this franchise.
Is he a winner or a cry baby? This is the question.

I think that trade would be great but thinking of the pssobility and salary cup I think it won't go through especially seeing the salary of emeka okafor so much overpaid. And I think Brooks is good enough for the rockets as a point guard what they needed is a Back Up Center who would be able to step up from the bench so the rockets can limit Yao playing time. :)
