House of poos... do you ever feel that your house sounds like that?

Today, I just came back from a very short vacation. Actually just a day away from home. I was shocked to see my house has turned into "house of poos". My house is a double storeys terrace. Almost every single step to the first floor has a few pieces of poos. The newspapers I laid at the ground floor were torn into pieces and whole house is in a big mess. I spent hours in cleaning the whole house after that. A day vacation has cost me hours of house cleaning. I am so dead tired. Have you ever have the same situation as me before? What happened? Ops! Forgot to mention that those poos were courtesy from my three dogs. Seems like they have made themselves the King and Queens of the house on that day and when I am back home, I am just their servant~

There have been only two months since my dog was housebroken, so I have fresh memories of a house full of poos... But since then, we haven't have any problems with poos in the house. When I have to leave the house for more then 8-10 hours and I can't take Binne with me, I ask a friend to take her out for her duties. He comes to our place and take the dog for a short walk in the neighbourhood, then leave her home alone again. Binne doesn't have any problems with being home alone, but I don't like her to become unhousebroken, that's why I need my friend's help. Maybe you should try this method, too. You just need to find a trusted friend or a close relative to help you.

I don't think this method will work for me. I used to bring my dog out for a walk, they did their business but that doesn't mean the rest of the day they are clean. They still do their business at home, especially never ending urine.

Thanks for the advices. That is a very interesting things to learn. I will try it and hopefully it helps. Actually, bring them out is another challenge. They tend to get ticks with them from the grass at the neighbourhood and ends up I have to help them to catch one by one. Another thing is my male dog always bark fiercely and hard to stop at the other dogs around the neighbourhoods, that makes me kind of embarrassed with the noisy dog. Therefore, I actually seldom bring them out anymore.

Oh, you really have a problem, then. But, even if your dogs are adults, you still can housebreak them. It is not a normal behavior to an adult dog to pee and poo all over the house, or you'll become their servant for life. You can try some of theese: Take them out as often as you can. An adult dog can hold his pee for 8, maybe 10 hours if he is housebroken, but to teach them to keep their home clean, take them out more often for the begining. When you leave home, don't let the whole house at your dogs' will, until they are fully housebroken. Leave only a room or a hallway for them when they are home alone, as dogs don't pee and poo in the place they sleep. Don't clean the mess your dogs made, in front of them. They might think it is some type of game humans like, and they'll continue to make such a mess.

That's why there are pet sitters. You pay a professional to come to your house and care for your animals. No poos that way. Also your dog is much happier having someone come and take him for a nice walk.

Pet sitter is not common at my place here. IF a hire one, then it will means extra expenses. At my place, a boarding house for the pet is more commonly found. Since I have three dogs with me, that would mean the cost of staying over a night is as expensive as a human's hotel rate.

We have boarding here too. Boarding is expensive. I had 2 dogs, but one passed away so I only have one now. I will have 2 again sometime. I have to board my dog(s) because I'm the only pet sitter in town. You can ask around at your vet. Maybe one of the employees wants to make a bit of extra money for coming in 2x a day and taking your dogs for a walk. Or maybe someone has actually started a pet sitting business and does it for a living.

At least you are away during the period. Imagine having to leave for work and only to come back with house full of poos. I am keeping a small dog now. Imagine I used to keep a Golden Retriever, the poos and pees..... breathe-taking.

I always have to clean their poo and pee after I come back from work everyday. I have a golden retriever, and she is the main contributor of so much poos! Sometimes, I am quite regret to agree to my husband to get another new dog, the golden retriever, six months back. We already have two dogs in the house before her. Yet, my husband seems to like her so much so I have to agree to him. In the end, I am the one have to suffer with endless cleaning.

I know how it is because I also have 3 dogs at home. Every time I come home from work, I could smell them but as you stay longer, you kind of get used to it. It comes strong only if you just got into the house. We have our stock room for the dogs to do their toileting but when there's no one in the house, it would still smell even with windows open. Aside from that, sometimes they take out the shoes, slippers and other belongings and just leave them every where when we are all out. That I think shows how they must have missed us. :) My mom would always say that she's the slave of our dogs because she's the one usually cleaning up their mess. But still, you couldn't exchange the joy they bring to you even if they mess like that :).

Me too have three dogs at home. Currently have another 8 puppies need to be taken care of, which are my dog's puppies. They are cute but when come to cleaning, sometimes I really can't bear to be angry at them. Worst when they keep disturb me while cleaning in process. Therefore, sometimes I will have to yell at them. They should know they have done something wrong.
