I do it very often actually. I try to listen to what my friends say but sometimes i just get distracted and nod yes to everything they say. Eventually though they finally ask me if i'm even listening. :P

When is someone that talks only bullsh-t, sometimes i pretend to listen , and i only say yes, or no. Sometimes when i go to shopping with my mother, we meet with friends of her, and they begin to give me advices what i should do, and bla bla, and i get bored, because i know what i want in life, and what i should do, and i pretend to listen just not to be rude, with my mothers friends.

Hello M_perez. I do that when I'm bored with what someone is saying to me. Some people just don't hold my attention and I wander off into another world when I should be listening. I think we can tell when someone isn't listening because they have a distant look and they trying to change the subject. I feel guilty when I don't listen properly but sometimes I just can't help it :)

Well sometimes our thoughts are more interesting than reality. Some people are boring (don't mean to be rude)..it's just reality. Well I feel guilty too so I just make it up by doing something for the person I ignore. Like buying them a snack or just spending extra time. Though I only to this when I get caught pretending not to listen.

I think everyone does that from time to time. I try not to make a habit of it.

yeah! i do that all the time....i think all of us do it at some point or another. Sometimes i just wish i could tell them to shut up but they would never wanna talk to me or would think i'm rude, so i would say it's a polite way to get away with it without hurting anybody: nod and smile!

Grr! D: i hate when that happens to me and it has happened to me many times..it's not a good feling at all . One of my teachers found out that i would never listen to him so he would always call on me to answer a question. He found my weakness DX and got me to listen to him all the time.

Usually I do it when the topic is boring, I just pretend that I was listing to what my friend is saying, but actually I was listening to somebody else. I try to find timing to excuse myself and look around as if finding someone.

I am also doing same thing, some time if I didn't understand than I just the words that they used at end of the sentence .Rarely I ask to them what are you saying but I feel uncomfortable and I just leave it .If the person who is elder one ,I won't ask them to repeated it.

Yea i do it often. Most of the time i pretend like listening to somebody when they say something thats when they repeat the topic again and again, backbite, and talk useless topics.Sometimes they ask question on me to test whether i am listening or not.I answer the question if it was heard before but if not i simply laugh and say whats that really mean?

Yes i sometimes do it! especially when i am chatting with someone on the computer then my mom would ask me some things. it's like an auto response with her. but if it's really a serious matter. i do pause for a while then talk to her. i can do multitasking so i can talk while i type on the keyboard. but i know what im doing is not good especially it is my mom. so every time i was being asked by anyone. and i am doing something, i just say "excuse me and let me finish first with what i am doing for a minute" then there! i am all ears for them.

I usually do that while I'm in the classroom. My friends start asking me questions but I can't understand them so I just say yes or smile. One day a friend asked me: are you going to my party tonight? and I said yes of course because I didnt' understand... The next day she asked me why didn't I come to the party and I was thinking: "what party?". It didn't end very well for me lol

Every time I feel like sleeping I do not get what others were saying. They can hate me if they wanted to but it is clear I am too less an alertness to even accomplish listening to them. I can't stand listening as hard it is for them to shut up.
