No. 1 Sports in the Philippines!!!

Yes we Filipinos are athletic in nature, but the thing is most of us don't use our God given talents on the correct sports. Most if not all love Basketball is just that most of us are not given significant height to battle against taller opponents. I'm not saying we are bad at it but pound for pound (as I borrow that phrase from boxing) we are one of the best, gifted and skilled in that sport.

We are not an avid fans of the americans i think it is just that we are more excited about the moves from crossovers to dunks, we just get crazy when we see those. Yhe thrill specially in close games, we just love the game not for anything else. But one of the main reasons why we love basketball is off course from the wester influence, we watch too much TV, hahaha! And one thimg for sure, soccer has too little space in our hearts period, I don't know why.

I think soccer is fast gaining the support of young students now. I see teams in color coded shirts play, even under the rain, at the UP Sunken Garden every afternoon. And, I had been enjoying the ladies volleyball on tv all year. The college belles, towering at six feet, are a delight to see...walloping, spiking, blocking, tossing, digging.... Basketball? Only when UST plays for championship, otherwise....

Obviously, they have great taste in sports. Basketball is the best.

I'm a Filipino and yeh I love playing Basketball, it's so fun playing with friends and lossing some of those fats in the body. Basketball is like a soccer in the Europe country, they just can't get over it. Basketball court are all over the country, every Barangay has more than 5 court. I think Filipino loves baskeball not because the influence of Americans but because the thrill that this game can give to the people and also because they simply loves this game.

We do love basketball. We are a basketball-crazy country. Problem is, our height hates Basketball.
