Is it possible rather THUMB!?!?!?!?

Friend, i saw almost all who all are using mobile they use to operate by THUMB ONLY?!?!?!? its not possible to operate from other finger?!?!?! why its only with the THUMB?!?!?! is there any scientific reason for that? please make me understandable in this.

I use my thumb because it is much quicker. I have family members (older) who use their finger and it is so slow. Also, the way that I hold my phone pretty much dictates that I will need to use my thumb to text!
