I am feeling bad to share the message that I have totally spoiled my Handwriting. Because, these days we are totally dependent on the PC and there is no chance of writing at all. Nor we are writing letters to any friends, relatives or business letters. How about UR hand writing...??? Do you write now practicing something or are just like me... You are lucky - as you kept your handwriting skill intact filling up the log book that is nice to hear. Yes,your nature of work has made your writing going on but-many do not have such work hence spoil their handwriting. Nice keep it up........

well i write a lot..both using pc and normal handwriting..surely your handwriting will be like a 3 years old child if you use laptop or pc a lot...but surely it will be a waste not to write something without using the pc...i do love to write and sometime i do change my handwriting to make it look better and easy to read...

That is nice to hear that you write both using the pc and normal handwriting-it is a good practice, and I suggest you to follow it regularly. And happy to note that you still try to make your self better and effective to look considering your handwriting. That is a great thought.....!!!!

Yes computer is somewhat a disturbing one at times just as you say ,getting addicted to the use of the computer we forget so many activities which we previously did. Any how we have to move according to the sweep otherwise we cannot be in touch with the latest developments.

I do believe yours much better than mine in this case. Nowadays less readers wanted to have hand-written notes or documents, "much better in printed version instead of having low legibility hand writing message", they said. Making it happens only for signing down a signature and/or initials to the specified documents or might be just a short note/message. Whatever, handwriting is that which characterizes a particular person; penmanship (chirography). I still remember in the last 30 years, world mapping done by handwrit experts and the process called cartography. Handwrit also does establish an indicator to one's personal character, I mean the writing stroke pattern related to human psychology which is called as graphology. I wish to try producing one good output for mural writing for one mural drawing if got chance or sort of calligraphy done on the wall.

Hello michaeldadona, you have beautifully described everything about the importance of handwriting. Yes if we go back a couple of decades back they used to mention,"Handwrit also does establish an indicator to one's personal character,"that is really true-which I experienced by many including the lecturers. And cannot forget a biology lecturer who has such a good handwriting on the black board and his hand is so flexible that he could draw any diagram with perfection. Gone are those beautiful and describable days.. Enjoy life as it goes in the present is my saying.....

I remember cleaning out my room of old junk and discovered an old notebook from high school. When I took a look at the handwritten notes, I was surprised to discover that my handwriting looked different back then. My handwriting was pretty good when I was much younger. But now, I do feel bad that my handwriting looks "totally spoiled." I'm not sure what happened. Was it because we're totally dependent on the PC? Or was it because as we age, our eye-hand coordination slows down? Or is it because I'm too much in a rush to finish writing that I don't spend the time to write carefully the way I did back in high school? I used to write letters and send greeting cards to friends and relatives. But nowadays, I just send an email or an e-card. So the lack of practice in writing probably was a contributing factor to the deterioration of my handwriting. Now my handwriting looks worse than a doctor's. Say, maybe it's not too late for me to switch careers;-) Well, maybe not. I can't stand the sight of blood. But looking on the bright side, my boss can't read my handwriting either. So I can write whatever I want with impunity;-)

Oh yes AlwaysAskingWhy, your response made me to go back 50 years when I was in the 7th class. Yes,I am proud to say that I was the best handwriting student in the whole school.I remember that when an inter - state school science exhibition was conducted they exclusively invited me to write and also I was good at drawing science diagrams just free hand.I drew around 50 charts those days and my dad scolded like any thing for taking up this work - as it was a very tedious one. Any I do not want to-deviate he topic - I could understand that your hand writing has totally got spoiled. I remember when ever an students handwriting was bad my English teacher used to say," what man your have a doctors handwriting. So nothing to worry,it is lack of practice and is not at all linked with age.Hence the only way to come back to your original handwriting is to do a home work as we used to do in school days and that is.... Write every day something which pleases you for only 15 minutes and I assure gradually you will re gain your original handwriting. This is what I do.

My handwriting was bad enough before the computers came into our life, there's no space for it to become worse. So I don't have your problem! But one of my classmate told me once he filled a table but made tens of writing mistakes in less than two hundred Chinese characters. At last he made a same table with MS word and printed it.

Hi qianyun6, I am just wondering as to why you did not have a taste to improve you handwriting before the arrival of the PC. Normally every one likes to write in a neat way..Let me know this. This is the first time I am hearing from some one in this way.

I always have terrible handwriting, my mother used to comment that my characters (Chinese) look like spider's legs, so you can imagine how bad that was. Later I know somebody who has beautiful handwriting and I wanted to be like her, so I went to take up calligraphy. It has improved my writing somewhat but not much, I guess I just don't have the talent. Now I am just so reliant on typing that I don't even know how to write some of the words anymore and I sure would not show anybody my real handwriting...

This life can really be improved only by other inspirational actions. And,not only that one would have deep interest in doing things which is called dedication. If you acquire this quality it is for sure you can succeed in any field in life. May be you have learnt but lost interest in improving yourself hence missed the chance of gaining a good handwriting. Any how no problem... enjoy life to the fullest.

I feel my handwriting becomes different now because I hardly write long writings. My right hand feels numb whenever I write. Sometimes, I cannot tolerate it. I can stay typing or encoding for long than writing.

I am wondering as to how your hand gets numb only if you writ and does not trouble you when typing. Slowly make a practice of writing at least two paragraphs daily as a home work and sure you will improve....

Its same with me,my handwriting is too bad and small. No body can recognize my writing.Everybody tells me to write need and bigger in size but how can i do that.I gets a lot of complain from my friends, teachers and relatives about my writing.

Nothing to worry about that at all. Every individual has a different style and will not match with any other one, hence it is to make a self improvement schedule and Engadget yourself in improving the handwriting. If your handwriting is small you can really make it big by doing a daily home-work for fifteen minutes engaging yourself in writing a big letters which suits your taste.

OK -these days no one is bothered about handwriting I feel, because 90% of the work is being completed by a pc and the printer. We may have to fill the railway ticket reservation form at the station or do a signature for the bank withdrawals. Any how it is always better to write and read something daily which I do regularly.

All this is because we have lost the interest in writing and practically writing is totally avoided because of the technical development. More over PC"s taking birth has improved the world's working capacity. But, make a practice to write something every day for some time.

The reason behind it is our busy life style and nothing to write as every thing is happening through a computer itself. Hence it is better to write something every day so that the practice of writing will be there. This is what I do regularly for about 15 minutes.
