Today it has been my daughters birthday and to make it extra special she got engaged to be married today!
What I love especially about this is that our Son in Law to be asked her Dad and my permission before asking her. I think in this day and age where this is fading it makes for a good marriage and family relationships. dont you x

Congratulations to your daughter, not all moms are happy that there daughter will be married unlike you. Your lucky because you can really say that your daughter will have a good future with her husband since the guy ask permission to the parents before asking his girlfriend. It's nice to know that there are still some gentleman living in this chaotic world.

Firstly congratulation to you and your daughter. Well i think if son-in-law knows that your daughter is willing to get marry with him then for officially i m sure he will ask to parent(which is you) for the permission to get marry with the daughter.

This really makes me feel good! The man obviously has respect for his future inlaws and that lays the groundwork for a good working relationship. It shows his respect for tradition, too, something that is sadly lacking today. There are reasons for traditions--most of them are there because they work and benefit everyone.
I hope your daughter and her fiance have a lifetime of happiness together and he is a wonderful addition to the family!

That is great news and to know your son-in-law did it the old fashion way I love it. That is a start of a great relationship for all of you. I wish nothing but the best for your daughter and future son-in-law.

Aawww... how sweet! I think it's awesome that he asked permission. Maybe I still lean toward the way things use to be done but I respect a man that will ask permission to marry. My husband asked my parents' permission and even though he was nervous I feel that my parents respect him because of that. Congratulations to your daughter and to you for your soon to be son-in-law.

marriage is a social union or legal contact between individual that creates kingship an it can be recognize by state.we had to celebrate in a very interring way as it will happen once only in a blue moon. Its too nice to celebrate 2 celebrations at once in a different way.We feel very happy when we celebrate birthday every year but how happy she will be when she gets married same day.

That's one culture we have here in the Philippines, the same thing happened to me, I remember it was July 18, 2007. But ure right, its too bad that it seems like it's kinda fading, with all the couples opting to live in together instead of doing it the right way, you know asking the girl's parents' permission to get married, then get married, move in together in a new home, and have kids. Congratulations to your daughter!
