How do you repel mosquitoes?

The damp season's here again and mosquitoes are in a sucking frenzy. I'm wary about them for they carry all sorts of diseases like malaria and dengue. Honestly, I don't feel like spraying the house often with insecticide because we have a toddler here at home. My niece and I use a mosquito patch but they're quite expensive. Any other ways of repelling these blood suckers you can think of?

The mosquitoes like me. It is very bothering for me. Some time ago I heard a trick from TV. It said that if you take the Vitamin B, then the mosquitoes will leave you alone because they don't like this smell. I think this is an easy way. I love China

Citronella plants, and candles can help.. Neem oil on items, teatree oil... Catnip oil or catnip plants can help.. But you want to keep most of that away from your children... Skinsosoft avon has a good spray that can help.. ans is safe for pets and children in used right.. that works well.. Most of what I listed work the best but if all else falls get thick puffy comforters, make sure you have good screens and screen doors and windows on the house... Running fans can help too.. Outside in the yard unless it has a used drain all things that collect extra standing water.. mosquitos lay their eggs in any standing water around the area.. ... they usually hatch when it rains the female mosquitos need our blood to make the eggs.. is why they bite us..

I take a garlic supplement that keeps away the mosquitoes. I make sure to take the odorless formula because I don't want to smell like garlic to other people. It works to keep the mosquitoes away from me though. I take one garlic softgel in the mornings. I just buy the walmart brand. Works great!

Hi, myswirlyagelessmind. I can't stand mosquitoes at all. I purchased bug spray off a site called www.buggspray.com They have insect spray for mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and many other nasty pests. I bought the vanilla scented kind. I will buy what I can, to ward off the mosquitoes away from me.

By being ugly, lol. Seriously, I don't know how. They love me and want to devour me alive. I do what I can with bug repellents (organic, herb-based ones). Some of the products I've tried are oils and patches. Of course, there's also Off, but I try to go DEET-free as much as possible.

I think scented plants ward off insects and pests. I have sampaguita beside my front gate, rosal right in front of my kitchen sink, and lots of pandan around the house. Do go to a gardener in your area. There is a particular plant that repel mosquitoes away. You can plant this now, as it is the rainy season.

You can wear perfume around your body(Well,it is not a joke,I have tried this method and it takes its effect). In addition, you can also hide your family in a air-conditioned room.

Keep your surroundings dry and clean. You may plant eucalyptus near your doors or windows to prevent mosquitoes form coming inside the house. You can buy eucalyptus oil / essence this may also help a little to repel those mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes hatch near standing water, so make sure you don't have standing water at home. Also, don't wear dark colored clothes, I read it once while surfing the web, that you can avoid mosquitoes by wearing bright colored clothes.
