Why is it that most vampire movies claim there is a link to Christianity and vampirism. Such as the movie that I saw the other day. In this movie the vampire was Judas, and he was made to walk the earth forever for betraying Jesus. In another all of the descendants of Cain were vampires, there is even a legend that Adam has a wife before Eve that was a vampire. Why does this happen?

marketability most likely. islamic people don't even care to listen and to think that these things exist. so, it was well talked about by christians and that's what i believe is the reason. most of all, who would be the creator of these movies than christians as well.

I think a lot of storytellers like to try and explore origins.
and the Christian mythos is a very rich and complex one to play with like that. it makes for some very good stories.
it's not as much the case now, but in a lot of older vampire stories, vampires are repelled by Christian symbols, like crucifixes and holy water. so I suppose a lot of storytellers have asked themselves why that might be, and found a good bit of story to expand on in the Christian mythos.

i reckon is that the movie makers in the western world have had some knowledge of christian beliefs., and with imagination have expanded psuedo understanding of the bible to enforce cinema going profits.
However rather than look at it as a Christian or biblical problem.,, the basic content is good versus evil.... in a society that was largley christian based to combat evil the ' good ' is represented by the cross/crucifix and those who have the faith to use or believe in it....christians... so go fight the evil with the tools of good...
Misnomers of the biblical scriptures are created for differing purposes, such as "ledgends" the most recent one that has been proven to have been all made up in recent years was the basis of the movie Davinci Code., tracing all of this back to the writers (and beyond) who admitted they invented documents of so called proof..
if you read the bible with understanding of what is written, there is not much room for legends....
Mankinds imaginations are wonderful and should be praised for the creativity involved., taking a smidge of truth and then embellishing it to make a good story is a great gift.... to take stories litterally is like believing woody from toy story really exists...
if this subject bothers you, to be disturbed, can i suggest you find a bible to read to help with the confusion., or just see it and the good against evil as represented in the story line., i do not see it as an attack on the christian belief system at all rather that the beliefs of christian faithfull are equipped to fight against all evils through their faith..
best wishes x
