I just went to the grocery few hours ago and as I opened the bag of the things I bought, I realized, I just grab these things from their shelves and put in the basket then payed in the cashier. I never thought of checking the labels first especially for those product I don't usually use. How about you, do you check product label first before buying it?

I don't pay attention to the label of the products. All I care about is the brand, packing design and the price. Other information is not important for me and I won't care about it. I love China

When it comes to China brands, you should be careful. Its on the news that Most of their food and cosmetic products are contains harmful substances so better check the label first.

I probably should pay more attention to labels than I do, but I always know the brand and price, at the least. If it's something I've never used before, I read the labels to see about calories and nutrition. I'll compare labels if I'm buying a generic version of medicine or other prepared product.

Lets not forget that people with special diseases like diabetes have to check the sugar. People that are allergic to certain ingredients should pay attention to the ingredients, and people who simply want to eat healthy need to watch out for unhealthy ingredients like food coloring and taste materials.

Usually, when I buy a product for the first time, I always check the label and of course the expiry. I want to insure what it is that I put in my stomach as well what I give to my family. But if I have bought the same product the next time, I no longer read the ingredients considering that I know it already. I just look at the expiry and make sure that its still okay.

Well its always important to check the labels of products you buy in the market. Specially for the date of manufacture of the products. Also we should make a habit of looking on the labels of products we are purchasing. I always do check for date of manufacture and Price of the product whenever i buy any item. Thanks for this discussion. Take care :)

Yeah, date on the lables of the products is very very important before purchasing. It ensure your products fresh and good-qualified.For me,maybe I will neglect the date on label, but I will definitely not miss the price on label.

Hi vhings! I normally do when it comes to packed foodstuff unless I'm in a real hurry. I think we owe it to ourselves to make this a good habit. And you never know that it might save your own life one day.

No dude ,its never like that, especially in India.because we people go to the store normally with a picture of things in mind.infact we ask for or pick the product that are patent in life, which we have been using since childhood.

Hi, It will depend whether I am in rush or not. If I have plenty of time for my grocery shopping, I will check on the label to see whether the product is going to expire or not. Sometimes, the supermarket will have something on sales/price discount and if you were to pay attention, that product is going to expire soon. Sometimes, I will buy those cheap discounted products...as long as the expiry date still have about 2 months, then it should be fine to consume. If the expiry date is less than 1 month, then better don't buy. If i were in rush, then i won't never check on the product label.Just grab the items that I want and go off to the cashier for payment.

I sometimes check but usually I am in hurry so I couldn't check it. Yet if it's for my son I always check it. I feel sad if I buy something but it becomes useless afer.

Yes, I check the product label first before buying it, especially food product, like milk, cake, biscuits etc. Coz I don't want my family get something bad when consume the product. But sometimes I feel I don't need to check the product label for another categories product like shampoo, bath soap, detergent etc coz I think they aren't so dangerous to use.

Yes, I admit, I check the labels before I buy something. I am mostly concerned with calories, carbs and sodium so I faithfully check labels :)

Checking the labels is one of my habits whenever I buy my groceries. I always check the nutrition facts table, ingredients, weight, price, manufacturer, smell, color etc. As a consumer it a must to check on those things to know how much your money worth and the content of the product.

I always check the labels on everything I buy now. I try to buy products that don't have a lot of sugar, salt, and high fructose corn syrup and other additives as much as possible. I think all those extra additive cause cancers.

I always check the labels especially for products I've not have used and has no previous experience. I am very health conscious so I always check if the product contains ingredients that might just harm my family and my health as well. This is the reason why it is taking too long for me inside the grocery store. I don't just grab this and that and queue and pay. No, I shop only for products I've totally examined unless the product is already a regular part of my grocery items.

It depends on what I'm buying. I do not usually check things for calories. But sometimes I price compare like at Walmart. If they have Walmart brand ice cream on sale for $2.50 but they have another brand for $3.50 and the $3.50 brand has more in it I may lean more toward the 3.50 if I want more ice cream or if I am just wanting some ice cream and a lower price I will go with the cheaper one.

Ofcoarse I do I always check to see if I'm getting what I want since I am going to pay money for it might as well check that it's what I came for. I don't know how you can not look at the labels I guess it's a habit, but remember never want to grab the wrong stuff because that money is coming out of your pocket to pay for it. Anyway happy grocery shopping.

Here lately I have because I've been dieting. Especially, if it the stuff that I use to eat before I went on this diet. For me the biggest thing is the sodium content. I take blood pressure medicine, and I really wasn't aware or was paying that close attention to the stuff I like that has tons of sodium in it. Actually, that has been one of the positives on being on this diet. And that is paying closer attention to what I'm putting into my body.
