i am just wondering, am i a good singer?? / myLot

singing, i guess, is one of my favorite pastimes, however, i have this notion that when i go along with my friends going to a karaoke bar even if they request me to sing a song for them, i find it awkward although they like it how i render one particular song, at the back of my mind, somehow, i kept on asking myself, do i have a voice? do i sing pleasantly? why is it my friends are telling me that i have a good voice and i have guts to be a singer? but I, myself is denying it? because when i try hearing my own voice on a recorder, it doesn't seem good for me, while my friends are telling me it's good. well, i don't know if they are just telling me that out of respect of being my friends. but how will i know?

Trust me! you are a good singer! not the best that can beat up the divas but then it really is very pleasant to the ears. It is good that you have that kind of talent because people tend to like you more whenever they will be hanging out because they will have an instant entertainment aside from the Funny thing you can always give them. Pure entertainment value is what your friends need when you are hanging out. Sometimes the quality of the recorder that you use especially if it's a China phone (no offense to the chinese but it really is very inexpensive here) is one reason why you don't sound pleasant there. but if ever you notice people around you that they give you a round of applause after that "performance" then you will know that they really liked it.

i know i'm not that good in singing but i also know that some appreciates my voice, most of the time when i sing alternative genre of songs... @ fycee surely i can make you dance by the time you hear me sing...

I think you are being modest here. Your friends would never want you to sing if you were not a good singer. My friends don't tell me to sing when we go to karaoke because they(including me as well) know that I am a bad singer. I am sure you are good. The best person to ask will be your brother or sister. They will tell you correctly.
