How to make good pizza at home?

the other night my roommate and I decided to make homemade pizza. Well for us that entails going to the store, buying a pre-made crust, pepperoni toppings, cheese and pizza sauce. When it came out it was ok but didn't have that nice zing of flavor that pizzeria pizzas have. anyone have suggestions that would help to help us "zing" it up a bit?

I live next to a bakery that makes french bread so every Sunday I get my hands on the dough without having to deal with yeast or rise time. Try to see if your local supermarket will sell you the unbaked dough. Walmart supermarket use to makes/sell the fresh baked french bread (not sure if they still do), you should ask to see. They save on oven costs so they should be more than happy to sell it to you. Also my kid LOVES french bread pizza. You can slice the already baked french bread and then sauce/top to your taste. I will do this if I forgot to go to the baker before he baked the bread/when I can't get my hands on the dough.

Bah humbug... Forgot to mention... For a crunchy pizza: Go to Lowes or Home Depot and by a couple ceramic tiles. Sprinkle a little bit of corn meal (NOT corn flour that is used in corn dogs but course cornmeal - or you can crunch corn flakes to tiny pieces) Then place the dough on top then top and bake

we make our crust in our bread maker and put spaghetti sauce on it. then we put our toppings on it. the cool thing about making your own pizza is that you can experiment with different toppings. the best idea is to get ahold of a pizza menu and see what they have on there. personally i love sausage and extra cheese on mine...we recently had (it was a frozen pizza) that had spinach and cheese on it which was suprisingly good too.

I get the pillsbury thin crust pizza crust. I cook it for 5 mins first before adding toppings as I have discovered that if I don't it is still doughy on the bottom. If you want to add a little extra taste to it brush on some olive oil before baking the crust the first time also you can add some parmasan cheese or some itialian seasoning or I think they make a pizza seasoning spice. Sprinkle some on the crust or on the sauce after you put that on. I put on sausage that I have pre browned, pepporoni, mushrooms and green pepper if I have any. Be careful when putting on the cheese because more is not always better. I Make sure to bake mine until the cheese is brown on top because that is how I like it. Try with different toppings like bacon, caidian bacon, cheddar cheese (just a little on top not all of the cheese), I use regular sausage because I am not a big fan of italian sausage. You will have to try a few times before you find what you like. Good luck

My husband used to work at a pizza place and they make a stuffed crust pizza. You just need mozzarella cheese sticks and you lay them about an inch from the side then fold the crust over top of them. Top as usual and bake. When the cheese melts voila you have a stuffed crust pizza.

Oh my...its a pizza guys. Can't be that hard! If you use good ingreadiants it cant go bad...But the sad truth is that at most of the pizza-restaurants they use the worst ingrediants in pizza because you cant feel it as easy as in other foods
