Too much of my waiting last year for this movie to be shown in cinemas, as the painstaking research of every detail of what could be the movie look like.(on how the casts will look like, will be the bending effects realistic?, and the four nations will look the same as the cartoon series has?)
Then the time has come, the showing of The Last Airbender. The movie did not went to where I was expecting. It was too short as if you were just watching the trailer. Though to my understanding that we cannot fit the 20 chapters of the first book that just lasted for an hour and 45 minutes. The movie was faster than a Ferrari, that I can't appreciate almost everything.

I watched the movie and it was sooo...... I can't describe it. The movie lacked a lot, well, basically everything that I expected it to be and what to be in there. The story was sort of all the way right but the names were pronounced weird (but I assumed they were pronouncing them in the Asian way or something and we just know the American pronunciations) Aang was good for the part but the rest of the characters did not fit the way I thought but then again it is based off of a cartoon (at least they chose somewhat carefully for Aang's character). Overall, I hope they don't make 4 squeals of this just to finish the series.

I also didn't appreciate anything from the movie. I didn't expect it to be like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Percy Jackson where the movies followed the books. I thought the Last Airbender would be different and will follow a different course but the same storyline. I think it wasn't a good idea to follow the series. Yeah the kids are more familiar with the storyline of the series, but there's a lot of episodes for every chapter of the series and cramping them up in one film feels wrong. The movie went very fast, there are no explanations whatsoever (which I think is for the benefit of the kids since they would be appreciating the effect), but if they're going to be releasing the other films annually, then its viewers would age and would definitely hurt for deeper understanding of the film.
I wish they just made a different plot altogether. Same characters, same storyline, but they shouldn't have followed the flow in the series. Anyway, this is all just my opinion. I'm disappointed with the movie.
