Should mylot add a "Edit" function after members post their discussions?

It was my suggestion, and not really significant at all. From my past experience, I made some mistakes while I didn't really carefully proofreading my discussions before I actually hit the "Post" button. To be honest, my writing is not perfect, so sometimes after I posted my discussions, I went back to it, I found some mistakes which I would like to edit some of my mistakes, such as misspellings; run - on; etc....... But it won't allow me, because once it is posted, I can't edit it.

Yes, I strongly support that proposition. Mylot should add an edit tab so that we could make necessary corrections with our inadvertent grammar and spelling mistakes. I do have a lot of them and I admit it is sometimes because of my carelessness and lack of patience to review my posts before submitting. It is so embarrassing to see grammatical mistake after submission. Hu!hu!hu! Mylot are you listening?

yes. mylot had been listening and reading all these ... for so long. it is we, who are not bothering to read what the mylot admin said back to us.. ... ,,, lols. don't be angry on me, now! ... if only we take the extra pains of reading what we wanted to post, by preview button, this problem will not occur. and, mylot is just a discussion board.. and, not an article review, etc. sort of site, where your grammar mistakes, and spelling mistakes might count badly on you. here it is a free-for-all type english. not to bother much about grammar. ================= thanks!

Well. thanks for your people's support. I have to admit my mistakes too. But I couldn't go back to correct them, due to there is no such function. I simply submit it and apologize my typos. Some people simply criticize me, and I just have to accept my fault at this point.

I know it is a feature on some sites for comments to blogs, but since we are being paid and the discussions are moved to other sites, I suspect that's a bit problematic to program. So what is posted is what they pay for. I try to remember to use the "preview response" option when I end up doing a relatively large post but I have had moments of red-faced humility. But it is such as it is.

cheers! .. that is very very nice. .... at last, at the sixth post/response, I could find someone, who has really found the trick .. using the "preview comment" button, for doing the edit job ... -----------

I like and would support the idea of an edit/delete option..it's useful, speaking from experience of using it on IMDB and other Forums,so you can go in and fix typos or delete posts you had second thoughts about..the only drawback I'd see would be that it might be messing up the payment structure on Mylot? If the Ops here delete a discussion, all users below would lose their option for payment..if that was down to the individual, would expanding a discussion,or editing it down some cause much of a problem?

Yes, I second this sugestion, sometimes the typing mistakes just happen unintentionally, and without the capability to edit the content, it will express the wrong meaning. I think allow to edit the post once will be good enough.

Yes I think that mylot should do this because I also have made mistakes in the past like mostly misspelling the title and then you know can't really do anything about it and then people won't have a clue about what I am talking about. So I strongly agree with you that mylot should get an edit button for the discussions that way we can fix the mistakes that we have made and everything is all good then I think a lot of mylot people would actually be happy with that including me. Great question too.

I also sometimes commit mistakes while typing but when I later read it, there is no option to edit it. Having the option to edit our posts will be definitely good. But I think mylot admin just review posts only once and don't want it to be edited. As they can't make sure that the post still don't violate rules after being edited.

Yes, I think that this would be a nice touch! There are times when I think to myself 'I wish I had not written that or I wish I was able to correct that!' Overall I'm happy with the way things are on My Lot but a little addition like that would make all the difference to a lot of people I think. Andrew

I feel there should be an edit button as well. I have a tendency to think faster than I type and therefore sometimes what I have typed does not make sense. I know what I am trying to say, but it does not always come out that way. I am not sure who you can make this suggestion to.

Yes I do not know why they don't add an edit function. There have been so many times where I really wish I could go back and correct or add some stuff to my post but cant. Do not see what is the big deal about having one. Then again it could be just the forum it self that does not support the feature and might never will which would be very bad.

I don't think so. They have provide us preview button as an alternative way to verify our post before we submit or post. If we are allowed to edit our post, then there are some member will use it to edit in purpose change their content of discussions. This will make other member confuse. Either with response, some member will enable to edit their answer to be better if found other good answer in purpose get best response. I don't agree if there is edit button. Just be careful before post responses or discussions. Furthermore, no one here bothered if we do a misspelling.

Same situation here buddy. I remember when I have my first mistake in a post, I was finding whether there is an "edit" function after a response has been posted. It will be good if there that will be added.
