Have any of you tried losing weight lately? I'm currently trying to lose around 20 lbs and this has proven to be one of the most draining tasks to do, both physically and mentally. I have been eating clean good foods such as chicken, beef, fish and healthy carbs such as brown rice, oatmeal and skim milk. I currently run 20 minutes a day in the morning before breakfast. If anyone can share some tips or tricks with me it'd be very much appreciated !

Sounds like you're eating healthy and exercising, so stop looking at the scale. The important thing is that you feel good. One thing you didn't mention is what time of day you are eating. Something I've done recently that seems to have trimmed me down some is stopped my caloric intake after 7:00 or so. Also portions are important. If you go by restaurant standards, the portions most people eat at a meal are way too big. And no fast or processed foods.

iatemyself,
I agree, dieting is hard to do. I will tell you what worked for me. I started a food diary one day, and recorded ALL of the nutrition facts for EVERYTHING I ate, recorded the amount of water that I consumed, the amount of caffeine, basically everything that entered my body. After a couple of days, I realised that I was not consumine enough calories, but was getting too many carbohydrates. At that point I started the Adkins diet. In my first month, I dropped 20 lbs and a pants size. I am still on the diet, and am still loosing weight. I don't know what your personal situation is, but if you start a food diary, you might be able to focus on the areas that you have issues. Good luck!

hi i ahve been into a lot of lossing weight programs too.. i have dranks a lot of diet pills and nothing worked... until i enrolled myself to a gym and started to lessen my carbs intake. i started with just half a cup of food per meal.. if i feel hungry i eat low fat cookies.. avoid salty foods too... i jog at around 30-40 mins a day in a treadmill... i have been working out for more than 3months now and i can see the results now... slowly but i know am going there.... a friend of mine asked her doctor if L-carnitine is effective in lossing weight and she said yes as long as drink it after exercise... i just started drinking L-Carnitine 3 days ago and am still waiting for the result.. i may not see it now but surely see it soon... just be determine and stay focus you will soon see results.. patience is the key... :)

just try to exercise as much as possible and try eating less than what you usually eat, and of course if that does not work you can always try some weight loosing pills or surgery that works even better, but is your choice.

There are many ways to lose weight but i will tell u a few of those in short.
Here are some tips to lose those unwanted pounds in a healthy way:
1 Do not starve yourself: The key to a healthier way of losing weight is do not diet.(This may sound a bit ridiculous at first, but it worked for me.)
2 Start your day right: Your food intake after u wake up will be used to burn fat all day long.
3 Eat small, healthy meals frequently:(This is the most important step of all, even if u dont want to believe in the other steps, atleast practice this one for sure.)
4 Decide on how much weight u want to lose.
5 Drink lots of water.
6 Avoid too much sugar: Sugar in small amounts occasionally is okay, but it can be very harming if taken in large amounts, even occasionally.
7 Watch your fat intake.
8 Exercise: Some people think exercising heavily for a small period of time will help in losing weight but it is always the opposite, exercise less heavily (amount adviced by an expert) but do it daily without fail.
I hope my plan would be helpful for you

Welcome - Welcome to myLot
This is a topic I love to share, as since Oct 2009 I decided I would be in better health. I have always been a horrible eater, by that I mean I have tried starving, crash dieting and I was a terrible roller coaster. I could always lose weight then I would re gain it back in less than a year.
So back October 2009 I bought a Jillian Michaels bike and started to eat properly. By that I mean I went from one meal to zero meals a day, I began to eat four to five meals a day. The exercise bike plan says to do 30 minutes seven days a week, so I began doing it while watching TV and found that 30 minutes went by too fast. So I started to do one hour a day for five days a week, and in my entire life I never drank water so I began to force myself to drink water. I was never really obese, I was just getting very thick. So my success story is that I have lost 60 pounds and I look and feel great. I still eat four to five times a day and find that if I do not eat breakfast whether I am hungry or not I feel like I want to pass out so I have been doing all the right things, drinking my water, eating properly and now only use my bike 3 days a week.
So it can be done, it take discipline and persistence. This bike by the way is controlled by her voice so there is no cheating or getting around the regimen.
Good luck to you and you can do it if you set you mind to it.
