Hi aiwiuy let me tell you that you are not alone. There are a host of other people including me who suffer from anxiety. This is basically a psychological problem and it can assume significant proportions at certain points of time. However, one thing that I do to get rid of anxiety is to divert my attention to something else.Though it is difficult still it will produce results if exercised properly. If you are afraid standing in front of a crowd then I will suggest you to focus on something interesting that will divert your attention from the standing crowd.

You must shift your focus on something else. When I was young, I had the same fear as yours. My dad just told me to look at the audience and just pretend that there is no one there. While you are talking, make sure that you are moving your head slowly from left to right and right to left so as to let the audience know that you are conversing with them. Focus on your thoughts than what you are seeing. Practice, practice, practice and you will be fine.

If you are the timid type then you should know that timidity has a physiological cause.
In the book, Emotional Intelligence, I read that timid people have a brain chemistry that is very sensitive to a surge of adrenalin in the body. Once adrenalin is triggered by stress, your brain is flooded with this hormone and you start to get a lot of brain activity. Needless to say, your heart is beating really fast to prepare your body to fight or flee. When this happens, speech is compromised and the timid person is barely able to talk. Hence, a timid person is also the silent type.
Anyway, I'm a timid person and the best advice I can give you is to be aware of the situation and let your brain take over your emotions. Rehearsing threatening situations before they occur can also prepare you for the appropriate action to take.

Okay, so no one was born with a talent of talking in public. However, with practice our talking ability will improve. You can talk to yourself, talk in front of the mirror. But, the most important is to a careful preparation for your talk. During the talk, don't pay much attention to negative feedback from audience. Just go on your talk. Keep smiling is very effective too^^

I actually have a website on this topic, but I'm not sure if we are allowed to post links here.
Breathing is good. Sometimes when we are stressed, we forget to breathe properly, and that can lead to feelings of panic.
A nice deep breath through the nose and out the mouth will keep some of these feelings away. Pausing during a speech to do this, is less noticeable than you might think. Whatever you do...don't hold your breath!
