This really shocked me, I just watched the Maury show which test a mother if the alleged father/s are biologically related to the child either by paternity/DNA test or by lie-detector test. This is really new to me. This twins are called bi-paterna. It usually happens to fraternal twins. In the case of fraternal twins, a woman has ovulated more than once in a given month, thus releasing more than one egg, it is possible that each egg is fertilized by sperm of two different men which makes the twin bi-paternal. Although rare, it may happen.
Does anyone here actually experience this? Do you have any reactions to this matter? If you have please share your sentiments.

i havent experienced it and probably I wont because I dont have multiple partners but my husband but i also heard that it is possible for a twin to have different father. I believ in that state we really cant say they are twins. but they are sister or brothers. because in twins, the egg where just separated but from one egg alone..but anyways, issues like that relies to the infidelity of the mother. that's why kids suffer to their parnts mistakes

Your right this is the sole responsibility of the mother or both the parents.

Wow. I never thought that was even possible. So one of the twins is older?

Older by means of fertilization and minutes or seconds of birth but they are usually born in one day.

Yes, this is rare, but it can happen, it even happens with animals. The mother produces two eggs and if she is "sleeping around", one egg will get fertilized by one man and the other egg will get fertilized by another. The children are still twins, but they are half-sibling twins. Again, rare, but it does happen. Then again, I have seen and heard rarer and "odder" matters regarding twins and fertility.

yes.. i learned about it from college... from psychology class that there are three kinds of twins.. identical twins, fraternal twins, and that twins from different fathers...
our instructor explained that it could rarely happen... some women who have different partners could release another egg even when still pregnant... so the babies have different fathers...
this is one lesson i wont forget from our class.. not everybody knows this, i was amazed and shock when i learned about it...

I'm glad that a fellow person from the academe back up my statement. This is really scientific and actually happening in real life.

I don't think this is possible. If they are twins, surely it came from one egg and one sperm. If there is a case like this, defintely it will be in a World Guinness Book of Record. And if this happen, I wonder how the mother will explain........ LOL!

It is possible maybe someday they will include although it doesn't share spectacular records like 65 birth in a lifetime or 15 child in one labor.

wow! what a very interesting question...even a million of cells and sperm cells met.only one of those will become a child, from one person, even if a woman make love with different men, or with a hundred men, only one of them is the father of a child, and so with a twins.

It is true that most of the time the father of a child or twin is just one but this is one of the oddity of life. Maybe this is a test of God for the fidelity of the woman. Although rare this might happen.

possible indeed but very rare. Luckily I have no relatives or known friends that experienced that, that would be horrible to find out.

There is also twins by the same father who were conceived at different times. It doesnt have to just be by different men it can just be that the same man impregnated the same women at different times. I had first heard about this a few years back when my mother told me about it. She said thats what happened with mary-kate and ashley olsen. They look almost identical but they are not and they have the same father but were conceived at different times. Its truly amazing!

No, they are really twins, they're mother give birth to them on one day, they're fraternal not identical. They share the same mother therefore they are twins, just don't know if they came from one ovum or egg.
