Films downloaded through torrent don't work!!

Hi there,
Have you noticed recently that some of the movies downloaded using torrents don't seem to work on any player including vlc, media player classic with klite pack and divx. Not only that if you play them in windows media player it opens up a website where they ask you to download VLAN player to play the movie but before downloading the s/w you need to complete some surveys ,etc. So apparently ppl are earnng money bu this kind of fraud.

You said it. But still some guys use the name of famous uploaders like axxo and others to upload junk so it seems you can no longer trust anyone.

aXXo has stopped releasing his rips after releasing the punsiher warzone.
So, any movie uploaded after this is a total FAKE.
Try to download movies from good sites(will not name the sites, you know which site i'm talking about) and from trusted uploader after viewing their Uploader Status(i.e whether they are reputated/trusted uploader or not.

Hi,always prefer to download movie from a reputated release group.Those groups won't force you to give anything for downloading.
There are few people who put fake movies on the internet and ask you to download some Player or software to paly that movie.Remember, those softwares are full of viruses and trojans.So, beware, if you've downloaded any movie and it refused to play on VLC player or Media Player Classic or GOM Player, and ask you to download any video player and take you to a website, then that movie is a total FAKE and delete that movie instantly.
And yeah, some groups fake themselves as aXXo or any other groups, then, what should be done, visit their official site(if you have access to those site,such sites are very private and are member only sites).
If you didn't have access to those sites, then read the comments posted by other people on the site from where you download torrents.
This is the best practice.
And one more thing, after releasing "The Punisher-Warzone(2008)" aXXo has stopped releasing his rips.So any movie which is released after this movie(i.e. in 2009 and later) and had an aXXo tag, consider it as a FAKE.

yup, some people still didn't know about this info.
From what i know, axxo got a lot of warning from MPAA(US govt anti-piracy cell) but he continued uploading as he was under aged(under 18). So they cant through him in jail for promoting piracy.
But i think, now he might be 18+, that's why he stopped uploading his rips.
Who knows he might be uploading his rips using any other name or with any group.

well, you need to look at the comments to know if its working, and most torrent sites will let you view what file type you are downloading for.
i dont have any problems with movies that dont work.

Before downloading (and most of all, opening) anything off the internet, always make sure that what you're downloading is legit. I make it a point to check on the comments section first of a particular download before devoting precious bandwidth to downloading... Decent torrent and download sites have comments sections where users can see other users' comments on the torrent, ie, if the audio/video is good, if the subs are there, if it's in English, vis a vis, if the torrent is worth downloading at all. Some fake torrents out there are actually computer viruses, so you have to be extra careful.

I haven't encountered any yet. I'm using Demonoid. Sometimes I use PirateBay. Which torrent site are you using to download movies?

I trusted piratebay but well I have encountered one such torrent on piratebay too.
