Do you rather write using the computer or just write on a piece of paper? A lot of people love writing on the computer but i hate it, i mean on myLot and when blogging i like writing on the PC, and the ideas flow nicely, but when writing something else like a story or something like that i can't write on the computer i get blocked, the ideas don't flow, but when i write like in the old days using a pen and a piece of paper it's as if my hand and my brain were connected, i mean they are connected, but you know what i mean... Its as if they became one, its almost instinctive.

Hello zemma1992, I prefer typing on the computer other than paper and pencil.I think it is easier and faster to just do it on the computer than anything else. if I have nothing else to write on I will just use paper and pencil.

For me, it is not so, I like to do all my writing on PC. Ideas flow when I have my fingers on the keyboard and computer screen in front of me. I used to write with pen when I had no PC, but ever since I bought a PC, I do all my writing on PC.

I rather write using computer if I made some articles but I usually write in computer if my computer stay on. But, in certain situation when my computer get off like when I get in bed during sleep time and if I suddenly get inspired and have an ideas to write, I must quickly write it on a paper so I will not forget it.

Hi Zemma, I always want to write... Pen and paper are the preferred choices but on most occasions this is not just possible as it would mean re-writing the whole thing again. So here is the trick that I follow to keep both my pen and paper as well as computer happy - While writing stuff for blogs, comments, posts etc - (stuff that are direct on the PC and do not need me to prepare for anything) - I key them directly on the pc. However while writing for publications - (newspapers or magazines) - and programs that go for website development or applications - I prefer to write them first on paper - this gives me a sense of satisfaction and more control over the writing.

I do much better when I type than when I hand write, I just seem to be able to gather my thoughts together better on a keyboard than when I hand write. I'm also better at writing things faster when I type than when I hand write, plus, my hand writing is horrible and I have no idea how anyone can read my handwriting.

I just prefer to write in a computer than in hand. First of all it save time, it will not not wasted our limited time again and again. lets say that i am writing with hand, if i write something wrong then. Again, from the beginning i need to start. That really gonna suck my precious time. Where as in the computer, much more things can be done, no need of good handwriting, expensive tens and many more.I prefer computer rather then hand.

I do not like writing, so I prefer to write using a computer because it is more practical if there is a direct error can be removed or if there are left can be directly inserted

i'm just like you. i can only post comments or write blog entries using PC but other than that i go by the traditional method. and you're right there's free flow of ideas with pen and paper unlike with keyboards. but aside from that, i really can't concentrate here since there are a lot of other things you can do with your computer whereas, in front of a paper and a pen you can just focus on writing.

I do a pretty even balance of both and I don't really prefer either one. I always take a notebook and pen with me and I'll write anything that's on my mind at the moment or some segments of my stories and the like. I'll also do a fair amount of writing in front of the computer. I'm really not picky.

I have never been blessed with pretty handrwiting skills. Thank goodness for the computer. It makes life so much easier when you can read what is written.

It honestly depends on what I'm writing. I have terrible handwriting so notes and blogs I like using the computer but lists and when I write music it all has to be done by hand for whatever reason. Maybe I just feel it makes it more artistic.

A romantic letter: handwritting. But for all the rest I rather to type, it's really fast. When I first got my computer I started to type without looking for the keyboard for a month and it's easy nowadays. Also, I like the sound :D

I was sitting on the beach..and I noticed something that I really wanted to "write" down for my blog and guess what..It was convenient to write something down on a tissue paper with a pen that run to my room to my laptop....It's more that a occasion that I felt that way...till I got myself a smart-phone!!!

It really depends on what I'm doing. I'm a professional freelance writer, so if I have work I usually do it via computer since I can type fast. However, for brainstorming and stuff, I like to sprawl on the bed and write with a pen and paper. It is a good way to let the ideas flow nicely.

When I first started writing, I could not write on the computer. Even if I was writing something that had to be typed for one of my college classes, I would have to write it all out on paper, then go back and type it when I was done writing it. Over the years, however, I have developed the ability to write on the computer, and now I use it for all my writings. It is a lot easier to just save all my stuff to a flash drive instead of having to store all those pieces of paper, and saving it all on the computer means no wasted paper, and I still have the option to print something if I really need to...

Hi zemma1992, The computer definitely has a place for writers. Like now, I will type responses to the discussion quicker that if I had to write them out. I use the computer to do school papers and reports, but when it comes to my creative side, writing poetry, I have to use a pen for manually writing down my thoughts. My hand and my brain just connects, like you said. Once I got everything connected, then I head off to my trusted computer and type away. Another, area that I use pen and paper is in my personal communications. I writing to several persons in my life, young ladies that needs mentoring but live in another state. We do talk on the phone, but I want them to have my words to reflect back to when they need to re-read my letters, which helps them in their decision making. My personal favorite way of writing is free-hand cursive. It is very difficult for me to print. If I start to print I will evenually windup writing cursive. So, see you can't do that with a computer, I don't think you. Can you?

I agree with you. I also depends on both modern and traditional method of writing. While writing stories, I find it easier when I write them on paper (and always have a hard time to retype them in order for me to upload them on the Internet), but for certain things like discussions (especially in forums and mylot) the ideas just come easily as you type the letters by letters. Still, I would prefer writing in books because I can do that just anywhere and everywhere, even in the very rural area, where there's no internet connection~

I think its easier for your creative side to come out of you when you are bent over with a pen in your hand, than if you were just sitting at a computer staring dully into the screen. So for me it would also be easier to write on a piece of paper. :)
